Everton Vs Arsenal
Goodison Park
Wednesday 20:00 BST
Referee: Phill Dowd
True Grit
Arsenal have come back 4 times in a row from a goal down to win the match. A record in the premier league, it shows how far this team has come in the season. Once tipped to finish outside the top 4, Arsenal now sit 4th, 1 point behind the " tittle challengers " . But the race isnt finished, its a marathon and we need to stay strong and cross the finishing line. And we need to get the 3rd spot instead of the 4th because of chelsea wins the CL ( not a chance but u never know ) the 4th spot becomes useless and 3rd becomes the new 4th lol.
Goodison has been a good stadium for us, We won there last season with that sagna goal and also won a season before that with 6-1 margin. However everton are a big game team. They know how to beat the big boys as they showed against Man city and Chelsea. This is why i would say this will be our one of the 3 hard games in the remaining 10. We need to show the grit and determination and try to nick it in the end. With Chelsea playing Man city, we need to do everything we can to make the 3 points lead over them to 6 ( unless chelsea wins )
Team news ( BBC )
Everton are expected to be without midfield trio Jack Rodwell (hamstring), Seamus Coleman (thigh) and Darron Gibson (knee).Steven Pienaar is available again after being cup-tied against Sunderland.Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger must decide whether to stick with Kieran Gibbs at left-back or recall Andre Santos, who is fit after three months out with an ankle injury.
Mikel Arteta makes his first return to Goodison Park since moving to Arsenal.

Final words
Everton did play on saturday unlike us who last played 8 days ago. We should be more fresh than them but it doesnt matter when you cant perform up to the level you can. So i would like us to play in the same way which we did last few games. Wont mind a 1-0 in all honesty. But i think we will see a draw. 1-1

Re: Everton vs Arsenal
Everton is never an easy team to play home or away, since Moyes always gets them playing with a lot of work and solidity. You'll rarely get an easy three points from them.
Essientially, we need to match their work ethic if we are to win. Everton played a big game on Tuesday and a very franetic cup tie on Saturday, so they could have some tired legs going into tomorrow's game. We've not played in 8-9 days so we should be the fresher team. Hopefully this will work in our favour.
Everton's main threat will come down the flanks and they will look to get crosses into the box for their two aerial threats in Cahill and Jelavic. Fellaini will definitley try to spoil us in midfield so we'll need to be competitive in there as well as move the ball quickly and precisely.
I'm not too confident of getting three points, given Everton's recent home form against sides of our stature. They'll be up for it. A point might not be bad in the long run, but another win would be fantastic.
Looking at our upcoming fixtures we've got Aston Villa at home and QPR away. Both are games where anything but picking up maximum points would be a failure. After that it's Man City. Going into that game with seven consecutive wins in the league would be ideal and would help us consilodate a top four spot.

Re: Everton vs Arsenal
very good job RG
i would be happy if jags start coming back from injury
-------
but with rodwell out lets see
with Bac and kos there and one Arteta/song tracking osman (assuming he starts) we should be fine there
when Baines faces attackers who force him to stay Back more(as arry pointed about one of benefits of having bale there!)
his passes from midway to midfielders
mainly osman who position himself in space around RB/RCB/and midfileder who is supposed to cover there he can cause problems and release one midfield runner on left flank
just like the goal vs spuds and also chance similar to that created when he came on vs pool
but with our players there we should be fine
also despite hard work they do i thought they allowed Spreang good time on the ball
song yet again key in this manner
come on you gunners

Re: Everton vs Arsenal
Great job RG.
It wont be a easy game but I am sure we can get all the 3 points from them. We have had a long break and the guys are fresh and hungry.
Theo must put on a good show, we need him to beat them with his pace, they are tired since they just played a FA cup game.
RVP will get on score sheet and I think Arteta will score a goal.

Re: Everton vs Arsenal
Nice job RG.
Need to attack Hibbert from the get go cause he's the obvious weak link in that back 4. If Baines pushes forward, could leave alot of room for Theo to exploit with his pace.
Worried about Fellaini in midfield...he's very rough and agressive in the midfield, and last thing we need is an injury to any of Rosicky, Arteta, or Song.

Re: Everton vs Arsenal
I can't see Santos starting in this game. Even if he is fit, he's short of match practice and this game would be the wrong sort of game to throw him back in, especially since Gibbs is fit.
Also, I expect Gervinho to start over Chamberlain. We don't usually start Chamberlain in away games.
