Re: Zinedine Zidane, Manchester United Manager
I really do hope Nick is just being hyperbolic in that one as we certainly didn't have one of the best squads ever when Zidane was hired but we did have a fine squad nonetheless.
Anyway, being legendary isn't really gonna help Utd win league games so Zidane's status in the game isn't much of a talking point.

Yeah that did not come out well. i do think we had the best squad in europe and the best player or top 2. one of the best squad ever is what they earned on the pitch winning multiples CL

Re: Zinedine Zidane, Manchester United Manager
I really don't understand why you guys keep on flagging a dead horse.
Zidane is not the greatest tactical mind you'll ever run into, but he manages his squad very well and he happens to be a great motivator.
You'll never see him blame someone else for the defeats. He'll never throw his own players under the bus. You'll never see him act like a child on the sidelines. You'll never hear him question refereeing decisions.
That's one of the things I really respected it about him. He was a silent killer. He wins by miraculous goals at the death and yet he stays still and doesn't jump up and down like Conte and all those numpties.
He's the perfect manager to hire to calm the waters and repair a broken dressing room. And I would choose him over Mourinho any day of the week. There's absolutely no comparison between the two.
His Achilles heel is tactics. If you have a team full of world beaters, Zidane should be top of you list. If your team is in transition or is not that talented, I would refrain from hiring him.

Yeah, that 08-09 squad was pretty bad on paper. Marcelo, Ramos, Gago, Drenthe, Higuain were all pretty young mostly unknown qualities, and probably played more than they should have, Ramos and Marcelo in particular made so many mistakes back then, and Gago/Drethe never came good- combined with some absolute crap players in Heinze, Metzelder, Saviola, Lass, and Faubert (lol) and players passed their prime/near end of prime- Raul (31), RVN (32), Cannavaro (35), then there were the average players Momo, Guti.
All topped off by being managed by Juande Ramos
Casillas, Sneijder, Robben, and VDV were some of the only bright spots.
Luckily that was the last season of Calderon.

The players who got the most appearances were Casillas, Ramos, Cannavaro, Pepe, Heinze, Gago, Sneijder, Marcelo, Robben, Raúl, Higuaín, Van der Vaart, Lass and Guti.
Talent was good. Just a lot of injuries (RVN, momo, etc) and insane front office. Huntelaar was there too for half a year and got sold for no reason lol.
Madrid never had a talent problem. We had a sporting director, a president and various managers who obviously didn't understand they were part of the same club.

Won't stand for this Schuster slander tbh, won the league as many times as Mourinho or Zidane and more than Ancelotti!

For some reason Real back then was just not well managed, they always had so many stars, but they never had good chemistry or felt like they were all together. Sneijder and Robben were only there for a year or so IIRC, sold very quickly which I thought was a bit crazy, but it worked out ok for Real in the end.

Because our best player, Arjen Robben, was constantly injured.. and our other, dutch players, like VDV, Sneijder and Huntelaar struggled with injuries, as well. Royston Drenthe had psychological issues. We just didn't have a very stable team. On top of that, we had friggin' Calderon as our manager. Forgettable period in RM's history.

Re: Zinedine Zidane, Manchester United Manager
Calderón hating as well smh.
Another misunderstood legend, he brought you your greatest ever player and you still slander him with disrespect.
Meanwhile Florentino gave away said player because he was "sad" after profiting from Calderón's hard work to build a legacy.
Sad! and OUT.

Lol, mole, Calderon indeed did ground work, but it was Perez that made the deal. Calderon was and still is an a**hole.
Probably our poorest era was under Calderon and let’s not forget that he got the title thru corruption.

Google is your friend in this case. Seriously, you would wanna use Google to find out more about the corruption scandal that ended his tenure at the club.

El Mundo: Zidane has no interest in the job at MUFC and prefers Juventus for his return to management.

Zidane would sort this out. If he cannot, Utd should just pack it in and go play another sport.

Probably Pogba's instagram posts get delayed because Ed Woodward is using up all the bandwidth of the Carrington WiFi nonstop whatsapping images of Disneyland Paris to Zizou
