Re: Naby Keïta
People honestly aren't ready for Keita, he will be the best b2b in the PL. I haven't ever been this hyped for a new player

Re: Naby Keïta
So, what's the deal with Keita? He was supposed to be the signing that would stop us from playing these Milner - Henderson - Wijnaldum midfields. A flop and a fraud or harshly benched by Klopp?

He started off greatly then picked up an injury while we changed formation from a 433 to 4231.
He's looked good in patches but I think he's currently in the "adapt stage" that Robbo, the Ox, Fabinho etc received when they first joined the club to adjust to Klopp's system. He'll be fine. Klopp rates him highly.
I have no doubts he'll displace Wij or Hendo (they really can't play together, play ONE; NOT both ffs) when Klopp feels he's ready. He just lacks the discipline at the moment to play as one of the '2' and Firmino has been too good to drop as the 10.

Re: Naby Keïta
He's had a strange first season so far for sure, he started off like a house on fire and seemed to have settled straight in to the way of things but then he had an injury and a string of very poor performances both from the bench and a starting position but over the last 4/5 games he seems to have turned a bit of a corner and has been looking a lot better. Let's hope it is onwards and upwards for him from now until the end of the season.

He'll play next year, no way Klopp plays a guy unless that person has had a full preseason.

Re: Naby Keïta
He was supposed to offer something better going forward than our Hendersons, Wijnaldums and Milners, but instead has done fuck all. And he cost some £50m. I don't blame you for continuing to support him, but to me he's a flop.

lol
The guy is benched by a midfield of Henderson, Milner and Wijnaldum. Even an aging and perma-injured Lallana is getting more minutes. Keita is literally behind every senior midfielder in the pecking order. If that's not a £50m flop, I don't know what is.

Re: Naby Keïta
Not sure what's up with him, maybe he will flop, but generally speaking Klopp does sometimes take his time with players.
Sometimes, new players take quite a while until Klopp plays them, or until they function.
But there are numerous examples of players becoming really good performers after taking a long time.
At Liverpool, you've witnessed Fabinho and Robertson sitting out weeks and months to the consternation of fans, until suddenly they come on to be consistent top class.
Back at Dortmund, Lewandowski was bought as backup for then starting striker Lucas Barrios, and in his first season he looked like a total flop.
Similarly, Gündogan was bought from Nürnberg to succeed Sahin who had been bought by Real, and after his first games Klopp benched him again, he even was dropped from the squad and had to play for the reserves for a while.
Gündogan looked like he was not going to make it and flop badly, he was called a mistake transfer etc, it went on for more than half a season, but the season after (12/13) suddenly he was basically the very best CM in the world.
Not sure it will happen with Keita whose last season at Leipzig, after he had been 'bought' in advance by you, was not good already.
But history tells us it's too early to say.
However, Grujic is beasting in Berlin at Hertha, one of the league's best midfielders this season, will be interesting whether he will be part of Klopp's plans in the future.

Good on him for showing some form, but for someone who was bought with £50m to transform our midfield he's been a disappointment.

The reliance on him just jumping into the team and performing cost us the league. Not his fault, but we out too much eggs in his basket.

Re: Naby Keïta
Naby Keita has suffered two further injuries in his second appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations, after seemingly being rushed back to action for Guinea.
The Super Eagles’ robust approach saw Keita kicked around the pitch, and he was withdrawn on 71 minutes on the way to a 1-0 loss that leaves Guinea’s hopes of progressing slim.

Again? Unique is suffering more because of the nabster imo
Keita's obviously unreliable at the moment. I doubt ill miss him during the first two finals.
