Torreira was even tackling with his head on the floor ffs. Unreal commitment.
Only worry for them for the quarter is how fit everyone is, especially Cavani.

How was Ronaldo for most of the game? Only caught the last 30 mins, didn't look good at all

He was ever present but completely nullified. Didn't have a proper chance at goal and shot maybe 5 times straight into defenders from 20-25 meters out. No idea why that melt Guedes continued to see minutes for as long as he did this tournament, clearly as a striker he just wasn't working

Great goals by Uruguay, but their display wasn't that convincing overall, imo. Need to be braver against France.

@cbarca. He wasn't special at all. Uruguay game planned for him and Portugal very well. Portugal relied on hopeful long range strikes late on which was what Uruguay wanted.

Re: WC 2018 | Round of 16 | Uruguay Vs Portugal
@CBarca I was there all along
Uruguay doing what Uruguay does. It's a beautiful way to play. They do what Italy should.
Uruguay, while being experts on playing as underdogs, have so far had the better team in all games. The France game will be the first time they'll have to play "from behind". Let's if they can do their thing again. If Cavani makes it then it's on, otherwise little chance imo.
One thing to note is that they only played De Arrascaeta the first game from the start, the other (harder games) they went with a controlling mid with little width. I think they will do the same again vs France, which seems like a good idea.

To be fair Rui Patricio positioned himself too far to the right post for that Cavani goal. A top goal keeper saves that one, difficult but it should have been saved.

In Uruguay they call grit "garra" (spanish for claw) and they think it's their most defining feature
La Garra Charrua
Every Inter fan know this term after Vecino goal against Lazio because of Sky Italy commentator

portugal are such a terrible team. i thought argentina wasn't too great (feel for messi, that defense is awful).. but portugal are another level of garbage.
CR was frustrated and basically just started mindlessly shooting. but when you have teammates who get their asses outplayed by all three of spain, morocco, and iran, it's no suprise they can't play football when they're asked to. smart game plan from uruguay
