What do Uruguay get from that win?
I'm curious.. How does playing away from home in a friendly and defending all game benefit u? In my eyes they got nothing out of this game. Italy got more out of it

Re: What do Uruguay get from that win?
Lol I'm not bitter. If this were a competition id say they were terrific however I looked forward to seeing the so called most in form team in the world and I saw basically nothing
I thought Italy played well but didn't take our chances that's all
And no if u draw 7 games in a WC its not possible... 3 points In group stage doesn't guarantee entry to knockouts durr

Italy lacked a cutting edge. Funny that, after the first choice 2 forwards are both injured.
Uraguay just treated the game like a cup final.

Forlan wasn't playing either.....but that's not the point, the point is Uruguay is a power house now and Italy have not been the Italy people know them to be...We'll see how they'll perform in Euro12

I do not know if you people have noticed, but Uruguay was missing Diego Forlan, Luis Suarez, Abel Hernandez (The 1st forward sub), Jorge Fucile, Walter Gargano, Sebastian Abreu.
Balotelli forced Diego Perez to leave in the first half with an elbow in the eye.

What's wrong about balls to the walls defending in a a hostile away stadium, to one of the historically more important sides in football?
I mean, the irony is incredible coming from Italy fans
And don't give me "but we are playing attractive football". I know you are, but you of all people know the importance of a tactically solid side and the art of grinding out a result.

This. They've gained confidence that they can get results not just against South American giants but also a strong European team and they can get results in the absence of key players and compensate for their absence. Every opposition misses chances, it's something to work on in training to improve, however it shouldn't affect how they view getting the win.

Re: What do Uruguay get from that win?
I have nothing against how Uruguay played. My problem is why the hell time waste when it's a damn friendly... like 5 87th min subs... that's just embarrassing.
I hope prandelli learns balzaretti is nowhere near criscito's level, Osvaldo is nowhere near anybody else on Italy's level, Montolivo is garbage and Pepe is far more effective.
Honestly all of my respect for Matri is gone as well, he's so terrible internationally, pazzini is miles better.
I hope other Italians on this forum realize how they've overhyped the likes of pirlo, ranocchia, Chiellini, maggio, Osvaldo. (Although Chiellini was having one of his beast games today)
But some of those plays we made were mesmerizing

Italy aren't very good? Deal with it? Is that so?
Your telling me...
We who were missing our top strikers, Giovinco, Cassano and Rossi?
We who dominated with 70% of possesion?
We who went out there and dominated the whole game with more chances?
We who fought against a squad who just won the Coppa America and made it to the Semi's of the WC?
We who went against a squad with so much aggression having been booked 8 times?
Them who wasted time and had the ref give close to 6 mins of extra time(they got booked for it)
Them who tried to injure many of our players including Balotelli... numerous times?
And yet losing 1-0 is makes Italy look bad? In a friendly.
