I think he should go out on loan but I also think we don't have the depth atm, at least competent depth

William Carvalho, Gelson Martins & Bruno Fernandes all terminated their contracts with Sporting. Damn, we should be all over Bruno Fernandes & Martins now that the Fekir deal failed, I hope we can snatch at least 1 but I doubt it.

I doubt if a player can unilaterally terminate his contract. May be they have asked to be transfer listed.

They have had some ridiculous things happen to them that might have activated some odd clause in their contracts to allow them to terminate. Never know.

They claimed justified termination, given the lack of safety and hostile work environment, so if the court justifies it (and in any develop country it will) they don't have to pay anything, otherwise have to pay what the court says (prob. the release fee), but either way they are free to sign to any other club

On a serious note though, I'm willing to bet that it is a responsibility of the club to create a safe environment for players. Their agent's are smart enough to understand that their contracts can be rescinded by such an incident and I would also bet that the league/UEFA would absolutely support such a claim
