Not a direct replacement but a replacement as Higuain was a replacement for Pogba, it's a movement of money and like Higuain to Juve, it was a move completed prior to Pogba leaving to perhaps appease the fans

Unsure how this Griezmann move or lack of move will go down. I feel like he joins Barca, seems more fitting for him to leave after a dragged on response then for him to remain

Lemar is a LM, he is not a replacement for Griezmann.

Maybe he is the piece to keep Griezmann at Atletico, they showed some ambition by bringing Rodri and Lemar, the missing pieces in their midfield.

Yes they have a complete team now, Griezmann shall not leave Atletico this summer.

I rate them as very serious CL contenders next year.

Lemar is going to make them CL contenders? Reminder that this Atletico played in the Europa League last season and barely beat 6th placed Arsenal.

^Just what I was thinking. What has Lemar done to push them into CL contenders when Atletico failed in a group with Chelsea, Roma and Azerbaijan, and finished 15 points behind Barca?

They have a lot of soul searching to do after this season.

You guys can't seriously be having this conversation in June, it's just not the right time for it

Also, Diego Costa did not play for Aletico until January, obviously they were a much better team from the moment he was included

And we still don't know if Griezmann is staying

Atletico won the Europa in 2nd gear.

They came 3rd in the group, but in the group they had Gameiro, Partey & Correa starting. They didn't have Costa & Vitolo until january. Now they will have Costa, Rodri & Lemar starting instead of those 3. And they will have a bench. Not saying they are CL contenders or anything, but they are going to be a much better side next season if they keep Griezmann.

Look at that team... they can do damage. Lots of talent and a solid defense.

Thomas Lemar is fresh blood, his arrival is a factor worth considering. All together it seems a very solid group.

Last season's flop in CL group was just that, a flop. Shit happens. By no means it represents this team's true potential.

Proof is Atletico still managed to grab some silverware, it's a relevant club in Europe.

I agree, let's not forget Atletico reached 2 CL finals with worse teams than this. They even won La Liga with playing Raul Garcia in the starting 11 rofl

Hard to be too excited since I've never watched him play. Youtube looks fine.
