Re: World Cup 2018 General Discussion
actually I'm not convinced by their defense in general tbh, those CB's are all shite too
could be their undoing
insane attack and a top 3 midfield though
fully expect Vardinho and Kanealdo to ruin that backline though if we draw them
INGERLAND

Re: World Cup 2018 General Discussion
Brazil now finally have a genuine WC keeper since Julio Cesar. Its not going to be that easy.
Night and day difference between this squad and the one that reached semis in the last edition.
I mean scrubs like Fred and Oscar were among their star players ffs. No David Luiz as well so thats another huge plus.

And IMO having a quality bench is going to make a huge difference in this tournament
Brazil have plenty of quality attacking depth. Only Argentina and maybe France come close.

Would have given Spain way more props but their strikers aren't exactly all of that. Still a solid team they'll be fielding though.

Re: World Cup 2018 General Discussion
Tite is the Brazilian Conte. Stubborn, and successful, as hell.
Given the qualifiers the lineup is most likely:
Neymar - Jesus/Firminho - Coutinho/Willian/Costa
Renato - Casemiro/Fernandinho - Paulinho
Marcelo - Marquinhos/Silva - Miranda - Fagner/Marquinhos
Alisson

Re: World Cup 2018 General Discussion
Midfield is pretty trash offensively IMO, will be relying a lot on Neymar for creativity.
I don't think they will be as overwhelmingly good as people might think based on that.
Forward options are clearly fantastic and their defence is very good also.

That's the thing. Its not an attacking team. They destroyed the qualifiers because no one could score against them and they were deadly with those quick tehcnical forwards.

Tite went 42/5 in goals scored/conceded with Brazil on the run up to the WC. That's 5 goals conceded in 19 games.
He smashed the qualifiers like few others have.

Thats a great team but as someone already mentioned if they couldn't win it at home, they won't win it in Russia imo
Not a possibility that they'll get embarrased though.
Can't believe the WC is just around the corner.

Re: World Cup 2018 General Discussion
How is 2014 relevant?
This is the team that faced Germany:
Scolari.
Julio Cesar; Marcelo, Dante, Luiz, Maicon; Fernandinho, Gustavo; Bernard, Oscar, Hulk; Fred
Only Marcelo will probably be a starter again, Fernandinho the only other player in the squad. So 9-10 different players, different coach, 4 years in between.
Brazil may lose to Spain, Germany, etc. but certainly its not related at all to what happened 4 years ago.

Re: World Cup 2018 General Discussion
Even the bench got cleaned up.
Jefferson, Alves, Maxwell, Henrique, Ramires, Hernanes , Jo, Victor all gone. Only Pualinho and Willian remain.

I think Brazil has a great chance in Russia.
Both countries are part of the BRICS and have visa-free regime between them. I have many Brazilian acquaintances who do this trip every year, and months and months in advanced booked places in Russia for a whole month for duration of the tournament. Russians themselves like Brazil as well, as opposed to other European countries (mostly political reasons).
When we get closer to the business end of the tournament, don't be surprised to feel as if Brazil is the host country.

Don't see how anyone can stop us tbh, what team has a striker which claims every goal both teams score?
This a wrap tbh.
WATTBA.

Who would have thought four years ago that the hero of the final won't even make the provisional squad?
Really hope to see Reus go in fit.

Re: World Cup 2018 General Discussion
Sane and Reus on the wings would be different to most Germany teams in recent history, most of their midfield in recent memories have been technically accomplished and very skilled but not particularly fast.
Mind you Reus could be slow now for all I know
