Urbs did you see the tweet I tagged you in, saying we are joint-leading the PL in goals from direct corners?

Sorry, I deleted the Twitter app on my phone so I didn’t get the notification.
Doesn’t surprise me, since Ozil/Xhaka’s arrival we’ve got two incredible corner kick takers and G-Rude helped us spike our headed goals with the occasional Mustafi/Koscielny goal.

Re: The Short Corners Denunciation Thread
I’m new to this topic, but I think you need to ask yourselves this. Why do teams take short corners sometimes?
IMO, it usually is a case were they are hopelessly over matched in box, and taking a normal corner usually results in a turnover. The short corner allows them to retain possession. Also usually right before the corner the team has been keeping up the pressure with possession around the box and the short corner allows them to continue that momentum.

Re: The Short Corners Denunciation Thread
They are always more frequent in these years and they are always so unsuccesful
For example, never seen my team scoring on short corner
So, that 0,2 % of conversion rate is true
Not more though

Re: The Short Corners Denunciation Thread
Denunciation instensifies
I've lost count of how much times they were useless and damaging. Risked even to concede goals for a conterattack
But okay , especially useless. It is a mystery because coaches continues with it when noone never scored on short corner.
Anyway Poland - Italy :
Italy shots short corners for the whole matche . Never a danger.
Last minute : "normal long " corner and Italy scores goal.
The recap of my battle. For a better football. Fight with me.

Re: The Short Corners Denunciation Thread
I was absolutely disgusted when our coach (was it Strama?) implemented them, completely idiotic. And a couple others followed after him. I can't even remember, it's all a blur to me now.

Re: The Short Corners Denunciation Thread
Atletico vs Dortmund, Dortmund down 1:0 approaching HT, and lucky not to be down more.
They get a corner right at the end of one minute added time before HT, take a short corner and the ref blows the whistle before they can get a cross in
Deservedly so. Idiot decision to take it short in that situation.

Re: The Short Corners Denunciation Thread
Another prime exmple
Sarri's Chelsea get a corner at 97 minutes, literally the last second of added time at 1-1, at Old Trafford in the game defining CL spots
Why not try to, you know, SCORE?
They do a short corner and the ref understandably whistles right away

Re: The Short Corners Denunciation Thread
worst is that the ref clearly signaled them to take it long, i saw the gesture and i thought it was odd. The moment he passed it he blewed the whistle lol, stupid playHapless_Hans wrote:Another prime exmple
