Does Qatar have enough stadiums to have all the games? Its a small nation. There was a lot of corruption in both the Russia and Qatar selections. On that basis we should see a change in location. The corruption led to arrests.

Amnesty states 250 dying each year, Most of them Indian. Most of these Indians have nothing to live for in both countries and end up choosing the slave life even while knowing the consequences. Can't blame them, Poverty can make you do anything which has a glimer of hope and most of India is backward and below poverty line outside the cities because of the wealth disparity.

Problem is not wealth disparity.
Problem is not enough wealth being generated because of government intervention of the socialist India which created market distortion in every field including education, agriculture, manufacturing.

The only sector which government couldn't interfere and is fairly new, which is service sector grew at a high level. It is no wonder our IT industry became a world wide hit... That is the industry with least government interference.

I thought it was because cheap labor in IT services allows them to undercut the local market, thus making it a valuable proposition to middle management who know nothing about technology looking to slash budgets to pad their resumes for the next time they jump ship to another company.

A lot of companies are moving their IT services locally because of the fires such body shops as Infosys and TCS produced. If a lack of government intervention is the reason why companies we do business with have, for the past few years, kept bringing on "Senior Software Developers", who can barely string together a for loop, then maybe the government should do something.

Just a note, as someone fro the Middle East.

While Russia is certainly a country with many sins, mostly against their own people, the Europe-enabled US foreign policy of the past 50 years have been far more responsible for deaths and destruction in the world.

A boycott of the Russian WC shouldn't happen without a concurrent boycott of the US and their armed thuggish allies.

I'm not arguing that the US hasn't done things in the past but this isn't a referendum on if the US is a good nation or not, every world power including the US and the UK has done terrible things, that doesn't need explaining, that's incredibly obvious, but if there is an argument of Russia vs the US and the UK, there is a clear difference to what the situation is in Russia vs what it is in the US or the UK. Read Giancarlo's post again.

I haven't even said I think there should be a boycott, but comparing Russia and the US currently, defending Russia? It's absurd

Saddam Hussian was working on the plan to sell the oil in Gold dinar (not in USD) and this step will have a cascade effect and all the Oil producing countries will start selling their oil in Dinar.

USD is a Fiat currency , its means there is no backing up of gold against the USD and just to create the artificial demand , US wants all the oil producing countries to sell their oil in USD.

If these oil producing countries shifted to other currency , then their will no as such great demand of USD and then the US dollar will collapse.

So US is just delaying this by attacking Iraq, Syria, Libya, Yemen and IRAN.

So yeah ,Yemen and Iran currently. I hope every person in the world learn economics... It will help understand geopolitics and help understand which politician is doing what for what reason and whom to vote for.

Government regulation is a good thing. It isn't bad, if done for the right reasons. A country with less government regulation is generally one with many more problems. Even US states with less regulation are a mess. Ohio and West Virginia are two US states where the state government is scaled back but the people are suffering from cancer and a whole lot of other ailments because of unregulated industry. Ohio is the state where a river caught fire afterall.

Actually, Russa has been responsible for far more deaths and destruction than any Western based foreign policy. One can only look at Russia's involvement even in Afghanistan which cost more lives than any Western intervention. Same thing goes for states like Ethiopia with the Derg and Angola with the MPLA.

Guardian reporting that 25 England fans have been arrested in Amsterdam ahead of tonight's friendly. The beacon of ethical behaviour, morality and virtue-signalling people causing trouble with police officers and ordinary tourists, throwing beers at them in one of the friendliest cities in the world. If they behave like this in land of their friendly allies, then I shudder to think how badly it could go in the land of the nation Boris Johnson just compared to Nazi Germany...

For the sake of their travelling fans, a lot of whom will be very kind and normal people, I wish England to boycott the WC. A repeat of such behaviour in June will have these guys sent to Black Dolphin (feel free to google it, up there with the toughest Chinese prisons) or maybe some Monglo-Siberian therapy. I prefer a World Cup without England than one tarred with violence and trouble news instead of actual football being played. Thankfully, England won't be playing in any of the few cities I'll be attending for matches, and for that matter, neither will Russia (at close time proximity anyways). Good stuff.

A business partner of mine who attended the Confederations Cup last summer said the police will have a zero-tolerance policy, sniffing dogs all over the hosting cities and metro, and any provocative/drunken abuse or behaviour will be met with immediate arrest and imprisonment, regardless of nationality. Funnily, he said Australian and New Zealand fans that travelled seemed to enjoy their time and were very well-behaved.

That's like saying Larry Nassar hasn't hurt nearly as many people as the justice system in America over the years so don't say shit.
since every country, except maybe Nepal and New Guinea has done some evil nasty shit, lets let everything slide.
And lets not act like A) they publish stats of how many people die in the cold from homelessness in America and B) like there aren't people dying in the cold in RICH Europe too. Shits been happening everywhere since the beginning of time.

Ohio is actually middle of the pack, and West Virginia is one of the most heavily regulated states. might want to update your info.
Michigan is pretty well regulated and its a mess anywhere there isn't rich white people.

when the Russian neo nazi football hooligans that everyone in the world apart from you know exist start killing middle aged family men who have young kids with them simply because they have on a England shirt I’m sure dicks like you will find a way to blame it on the England fan.

Are you really 43? I expect petty insults and name calling from teenagers, not a grown man. I talked about England fans in Netherlands. I fully supported Russian hooligans getting arrested and jailed in France/Spain for the troubles they caused, same as I will support for any trouble seeking scumbags who make life hell for the rest of us peaceful supporters, no matter which part of the world.

There are (unconfirmed rumours) that the English fans in question in Amsterdam were also chanting against the Germans, the Irish and Muslim people. The violence history of SOME English fans is well documented, same with those SOME Russian fans. Neither side has a moral high ground to stand on when it comes to fan disturbance and violence. I am sure you're old enough to remember the 80s...

It's a shame that French authorities were so weak and pathetic. During the England-Russia game in June 2016, thousands of fans of both teams must have been arrested and still be serving in jail today. If I recall correctly, the French police actually ran away from the troublemaking fans, instead of aggressively cracking down and arresting them.

funny thing is when 2000 fans come to Wembley to play England who have 80k fans there is never a hint of trouble yet when 500-600 England fans go to away games there always seems to be trouble. So basically when England fans out number the others 600 to 1 and could crush them easy they don’t start fights. But when 600 England fans go to another country and are badly out numbered and will get smashed they start trouble. Smells like bullshit to me. scratch

The US have created the monstrosity that is Radical Islamic terrorism , along with Saudi money and ideology. US coups in Iran, South America, and other countries have contributed to decades long civil wars. Not to mention their intervention wars in South East Asia and Korea.

Russia isn't clean, not by a long shot. However, only one country maintains military bases all over the world.
