Who will progress ?
Re: UCL R16 : Juventus Vs Tottenham Hotspur
So the lesson he took away from that is that they should've cleared the ball at the first sign of pressure?

CB needs to forgo his Barca DNA and stop talking about passing the ball better than the opponent while being 1-0 down imo

What a result for Spurs. Matches one of the best teams in the world away from home with a team made with a shoestring budget once again (despite the many factors involved like injury) and people still bash Poch for not winning trophies. Any team not going for him in the near future, be it Real or United will come to rue.

Re: UCL R16 : Juventus Vs Tottenham Hotspur
I am a Juve fan second leg will be lit but if matuidi and dybala come in and put in a shift I just expect us to nudge it. They have been almost our best players this season for us no need to explain the importance of them to the public.
if we go out credit to Pochettino and Spurs. However I am disappointed in the club that we didn't address our midfield issues we are becoming somewhat of a pushover in the transfer market. We tend to strengthen areas from last season we need to strengthen but lose top players every summer and not actually replace them.
With one or two more quality centre mids and cutting Khedira and Stucuz we probably wouldn't have drawn that match. De Sciglio at RB is a good back up/rotation player but disappointing as our main right back signing this window.
We have ourselves to blame we are becoming cheap. Not expecting world class players to arrive but potential world class players or bench warmers from top clubs would make a huge difference. Could have made moves players like n'zonzi, kovacic that calibre and we would already be through.

Re: UCL R16 : Juventus Vs Tottenham Hotspur
Don't understand why people praise Spurs like they are the best thing since sliced bread. Sure they are good team and they played away from home but by half time they should have been 3-1 down if not 4-1 against a half-arsed Juventus team. They had the possession but they had no penetration, just like vs Arsenal first half.

Re: UCL R16 : Juventus Vs Tottenham Hotspur
Its because Poch is making them playing that way with minimum resources and using local players promoted from their youth team instead of buying 60 mil attackers and keeping them as options from the bench.
Sure, finding Kane and Kane become the Kane he is right now could be attributed to good luck. Even still. The self belief within that squad is something I havent seen since Prime Fergie era. Imagine us going 2-0 under Moaninho to Juventus away. Not just United, most of the teams will simply fold from that point.
Could have/ would have is not relevant. After all, it wasnt down to some injustice from the officials, it was Higguain blasting against the post with his penalty. It ddidnt become a 3-1 or a 4-1 but stayed 2-1 for Spurs to equalize in the 2nd half. Simple.
And people pointing towards the missing players of Juventus, Spurs too were missing Rose, Alderweireld and Wanyama. 3 names who could be counted among their important ones.

Khedira should be benched for like a month and then sold to the MLS in the summer. Might as well just play Bentancur every game to see if he is the real deal or not. Could just play that guy Muratore that showed up on the CL squad.

Re: UCL R16 : Juventus Vs Tottenham Hotspur
Pjanic got zero help in this midfield and i still don't get why Marchisio was left warming the bench.
The only downside of Bonucci's departure is the first pass is now Chiellini's job. Problem is... the man can't do it all by himself. Why not give him the keeper gloves and ask him to attack while we're at it

Re: UCL R16 : Juventus Vs Tottenham Hotspur
Why 3-4 / 4-1 ?
We created at least 4 chances on first half ( Kane close to score twice, Alli same ) not just Juve did it
Perhaps 4-4 ..
@CBucks , do you think would Poche begin with Alderweireld on 2nd leg or Davinson Sanchez is our first starter this year?
I 'd change 3/4 of defence for 2nd leg

Yep Khedira was easily the worst player yesterday
Been relevant just against Chievo in 9 men this year
Juve need of adjust the midfielder for 2nd leg, they need of this more than Dybala. yesterday Bernardeschi was good, not felt pressure of the match

Jjuve fans need not worry about Khedira for much longer. His Turkish-German half-brother Emre Can is coming. What Khedira leaves to be desired offensively, will soon be left desired defensively.

It's revisionist. Juventus, if they only scored their very, very good chances would have scored 3 probably. Higuains two goals, and the penalty he missed. If Spurs scored their very, very good chances they probably would have scored two (Kane goal, and Kane point blank header). There were a couple good chances for each side after that (Higuain again, Kane, Dele also had good chances). For either team, they were opportunities but not clear cut. After half time both teams had chances but none of which I would say were clear cut -- Tottenham came out a bit lucky in this regard to score a great free kick and that's how they got to the draw.
To respond to the rest of your Bucks infused post, I think it depends on how the next few weeks go. If Alderweireld is playing and doing well, I think he starts and Sanchez goes to the bench. Trippier will start on the right (obviously). Vertonghen will stay. Davies will stay on the left because he is a better defender than Rose and Spurs need that (and Rose is still coming off injury). Davies didn't have a great game overall defensively but that's the exception and not the norm.
Poch could also go three at the back. I don't expect they will because Poch has shifted this season from 3 CB's back to a four across the back, which has resulted in Spurs playing better.
My prediction is Davies-Vertonghen-Alderweireld-Trippier. This is also my preferred lineup. I would have liked to see a cheeky bid for Giannis in January to put him up top with Kane but alas it isn't meant to be.
