- Trump just announced they won't enact new sanctions on Russia despite both the House and Senate voting overwhelmingly in favor of it(419-3 and 98-2).

The way in which a number of republicans have followed trumps lead in attacking the FBI and our intelligence agencies is absolutely shameful, dangerous, and attacking our democracy at its heart.

Agree. Reagan was the blueprint/prototype president for Trump. I'm 100% sure that if Twitter was a thing in the 80s, Reagan would be making as much of a fool of himself on there as Trump is now.

-Increased military spending so much the USSR couldn't keep up, leading to their collapse, turning the US into the only superpower around until present-day China
-Revitalized economy
-Signed treaties with USSR to decrease nuclear weapons stock

Well, Reagan was a shit president and started much of today's celebrity-as-politician nonsense, but history will probably be kinder to him than it'll be to shitsticks like Nixon, Buchanan, or Trump.

Also Reagan didn't revitalize the economy, Reagan just happened to be president when the slump was over. If anything his stupid-ass "Reaganomics" deregulation and tax cut extravaganza led to the huge gap between the poor and the rich, as well as the deficit the US is enjoying today.

The US deficit is really not a big deal in relative terms, creditors are still willing to loan to the US at very low rates, and it's unfair to blame Reagan for it considering we're 3 decades past his reign. It's far more accurate to say the Iraq & Afghani wars are responsible for it, not to mention the Bush created financial crisis. I was honestly surprised W was not lower.

Now that I think of it, I can see why conservatives are still in love with Reagan, he was the only competent leader they produced since Eisenhower.

I'm not saying that Reagan's tax cuts directly caused the current debt, as it was a long line of presidents (including Democrats like Clinton) that continued with ill-advised tax cuts without cutting spending, but it was Reagan who first viciously attacked evidence-based politicking and pushed his policies with romanticized versions of reality, turning the myth of the "American Dream" into something that could paint everybody less-than-rich as someone not trying hard enough.

It was under Reagan where the political climate started that destroyed the social conscience of an entire nation, which is sad, because he was president at a time where America was finally over McCarthyism.

there's an interview from 2008 apparently where Trump wouldn't even help someone who was seriously hurt at a Fundraiser he attended, when the man fell over. Trump said he was visibly disturbed by the blood. Now he thinks he's Rambo.

thats not exactly what he said now was it. he didnt say just give all teachers guns. he said if a few well trained teachers had guns they could stop this kind of thing faster than it takes for police to respond and tbh he is right. why not have armed security in schools they have them in airports and  court houses and any building that have polititions in them. he said maybe a crack pot with a gun might think twice about shooting a school up if they knew the school had well trained armed teachers that will kill them before they start. the only thing that will stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun
