I saw a piece of news the other day that Barcelona are negotiating new contracts with their senior players whereby the players would take wage cuts in the short-term that are paid up a year or two later. Sounds like they're on the brink financially. Bartomeu & co. abandoning the sinking ship before shit really hits the fan, it seems xDDD

They aren't choosing to resign, they are being kicked out. There was supposed to be a referendum to vote them out and they've trying to prevent it from happening. Finally they resigned.

Laporta collected 10,257 signatures in order to run, Victor Font was 2nd with 4,710

Jordi Farre, the main guy behind no-confidence motion and sacking of Bartomeu, said he will vote for Laporta since he didn't collect enough signatures to run himself.

With overwhelming support, I believe Laporta will be the new/old president.
