As I was saying last year, Inter have very good personnel, they were just super unlucky manager-wise. The managers were probably ok, but they did not know how to motivate or use the players they had. You saw today how even our midfielders can score goals from 40 yards out.

Matic of 3 seasons back was a monster. This version on the other hand looks pretty dull and washed up.
May be in a midfield 3, if his job is only to protect the back 4 and not carry the ball like he was doing for the blues, he will regain some of his form and do his job.

Last time we won the transfer trophy making glamour signings even without CL in the end ending up 6th. This time, with CL we are signing mediocre but perhaps needed and useful players. May be it will work. Otherwise, Mou will have his work cut out, no doubt.

Glory , what are the most reliable sources on United ? I need to know it for Perisic do you think Mourinho is going to renounce for him for other names or not ?

Matic will do fine, the most interesting aspect of this transfer is not the player himself, but the impact of this partnership on creators Pogba & Herrera. Maybe he does not correspond to the regista profile, but he does the dirty work for the most talented teammates. Matic defends well, he's not a shit player like Fellaini.

Chelsea fans of this forum told me he is up-and-down in his performance, sometimes a new environment change that. B+ signing imo

Well, I dont know anymore. When it comes United there are tones of sources. People like to attach us with every player. So, too much to catch up as far as names.

You are right though about Castles. He is reliable with Mourinho teams. So, may be him.

Perisic could very well happen. It is interesting Matic deal is happening a day after the news broke that Mourinho is unhappy with Glazers. Perhaps we would budge and pay what you guys are asking for Perisic in the next couple of days.

All in all, that would complete a very nonglamorous transfer window for us. I genuinely hope Perisic is as good as you have been saying here mate. We are crying out for a proper wide attacking player, thats for sure.

38m we paid for Mata back then is what 16 year olds go for these days. Considering that price, he has been a great success for us. If Matic is to have a Mata-esque career in the United shirt, honestly wouldnt ask for more. At 29 years of age, I dont think he is being brought to be the main man. In majority of games Pog-herrera will be the pivot. (If Mou put Pog and Matic instead, well, that's his loss and no one elses, cos Ander has been arguably the best DM/Deep lying CM last season if we take away Kante from the equation).
Matic and Mata will rotate depending upon the opposition I reckon.

Mourinho not willing to let go of Fellaini is a worry tho.

For 6 months yeah, he's just not a great fit with Kante.

I knew we would eventually sign Matic when I first heard he would probably be leaving Chelsea this summer. Can't say I'm surprised at all then. That said, not impressed. I'd rather play Fellaini.  Maybe not but there isn't much between them. Actually that's harsh to Matic, but w/e. Hope he's motivated to play for us and not phoning in performances like he often does for Chelsea.
