If so, gonna be a tense shootout between China Town Duo and Lazio. Juve and Napoli will lock top 2 easily imo and Roma will be on their own in 3rd place.
Top 4 auto CL. Not so sure about Roma being an absolute lock over the others mentioned but they seem to be rolling now results wise at least

I think even if they struggle against their league rivals, they're used to steamrolling teams that the rest of the top outside of Juve-Napoli will end up dropping points to on the reg. Could be wrong, but I think the top 3 status quo will resume. 4th is the real interesting race from a neutrals perspective.

Just because it happened against Inter...
Probably it disturbs the fact that Inter finally get the penalties thanks to Var while before we finished with 1-2 penalties every league...
Penalty kicks from 2012/13 to 2016/17:
Juventus 36
Napoli 43
Milan 46
Fiorentina 45
Roma 38
Lazio 47
Inter 21
-20 than the rest lol
It's a fact. Not surprised you don't like Var because even Inter can getting penalty kicks tbh
Funny how Inter fans always complain about Juve getting free penalties, but in reality of all other top teams we are the ones who get them the least
I don't see the big deal in those stats... do you have the numbers of penalties against ? Would be useful.
Juve 36 vs Inter 21, that's a difference of 15 over 5 years... so an average of 3 per season. This can be explained since Icardi was the only relevant attacker for most of this period. Less players in the box = less chance of earning a penalty.
But i guess i am wrong ? The truth must reside in the well-documented conspiracy theory where Juventus, AC Milan, referees and basically the whole FIGC organigram are directing their machiavellian schemes against Inter.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread
Take it back a couple extra years and i'm pretty sure the gap between Juve - Milan for penalties is even larger.
Always laughed at the anti-Juve ref claims post-Calciopoli when refs look petrified to give us any penalties short of the opposition shooting our players in the dick and admitting to it straight after.
Like that year where we had about 3 penalties in 1 season and Milan fans were moaning even though Balotelli scored about 40 pens that season. Good times.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread
Yeah about the number of penalties against we were the top team more sanctioned ,you can search for it, google is also your friend.
Var takes more equity and justice ,that is a fact , if one is against Var means it prefers more mistakes . And i don t think it must be part of the game..it ' d be as saying that traffic accident make part of the life so they must be accepted.
Anyway I have a bomb : Var changed just one decision for us , when the ref had given free kick in place of penalty kick ( Inter - SPAL)... and luckily var changed it.
Because var is this : it intevenes just when there is a relevant mistake , it must intervene when there is greatness of mistake , otherwise if there is discretionary power it cannot change the decision of ref.
That is var , if we don't want to make populism and demagogy...
Specifically , for me there was the penalty on Eder in Bologna Inter.
And anyway even if you don't want to think it , you can't deny the contact so no clearness for saying it is not penalty. Very useless controversy.
I realize that everyone expected Inter loss and Bologna/Mbaye bottled it because Inter could never tied it on Tuesday without it ... We played awful match , infact it was a golden point but I am going to worry for our continuation (seen old ghosts , we had just two effective players on forward ...).. but anyway I suppose it must not influence our opinions about the penalty.

So my complaints against VAR is "populism and demagogy" ? this one is the best
Anyway my post had more to do with your victimization of Inter than arguing again about the VAR. I've made my point and you've made yours, fair enough imo.
I checked the penalty stats for 2016/2017
- Roma/Lazio 13
- Milan 12 (4 saved !)
- Fio 10
- Napoli 6
- Inter 5
- Juventus 3

Last year was hilarious. Kept getting screwed im the league in key matches. Got only 3 penalties. Clowns like Nainggolan complain about how Juve always wins because of penalties and such situations
Just a bunch of excuses by teams that weren't good enough.

The peak of ridiculous was reached with Bonucci's wrongly disallowed goal. VAR would have been useful there for instance.
To me it's just an excuse for Inter finishing 7th instead of 5th. Whilst penalties have been a non-factor for our team.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread
well, against milan on 95' wasn't secondary for importance and courage to give it. still no idea if it was or not. even the derby d'Italia was controversial and not because of us. so well,, I didn't get this curious awe , expecially in certain matches .. that said, it didn't influenced the league because it wasn't different for others ..
Frankly I 've seen so many mistakes last year overally (how many penalties got the Roman teams? almost 20 I think and many fake tbf) that it's easy to appreciated Var for me.
ok

Unreal jinx for Lazio
Injuries for :
Milinkovic Savic
De Vrij
Basta
Bastos
Wallace
Good for who must face them now. Their squad is good but not same for the reserves.
Just playing against Napoli ... Played better 1st half and they were close to 2-0 (maybe Reina deserved red card), then Injured both the CBs and they collapsed

Dzeko with the most Dzeko goal there is. Quickly pouncing on a mistake, turn in the box, low shot.

Almost with a second goal too.
Smells like another 3-4 goal win for Roma

El Shaarawy with the 2-0 a while back. Completely dominant form Roma. They already play differently than last year too, they have some movements that look like EDF's Sassuolo.
Once Emerson, Schick and Karsdorp are back this team should be really interesting. Pellegrini and Florenzi too make this a very talented squad.

I think they’ll roll over a lot of teams but th question is when EDF faces off against the top teams.
Already lost against Inter at home, albeit a bit of a fraudulent result and it was very early.

It was too early to mean anything imo. They still drew Atleti which is impressive enough for Roma. We'll see how they deal with big games in October when they play Milan, Napoli, Chelsea and Torino in a row

Udinese ffs
Edit- I agree with you Rincon, I like their squad but I don’t believe in EDF to raise their level from Spaletti, they got as good as they’ll get last season in my opinion.

SPAL went ahead with their one shot on goal. Insigne tied it up. Lets see if SPAL can hold on to it for another half.

I agree that Spalletti got the squad to play as well as they ever will. I just think that maybe this squad is better, it has more potential. Rudiger and Salah are big losses, particularly Salah. Still it seems like they did well in the market. Moreno, Karsdorp, Gonalons, Schick, Pellegrini, Under and Deffrel plus the eventual returns of Florenzi and Emerson (two who could have a huge impact over last year). That's a lot to add on top of the good team they had.
With fit fullbacks it now looks like the Roma defense might finally be stable. El Shaarawy looks really improved as well.
I think they have room to grow if EDF manages them well.
Kolarov, Moreno, Jesus, Peres; Gonalons, Pellegrini, Florenzi; Schick, Deffrel, Under
its a nice bench, and then there is Gerson, who knows if he is a real player or not.

Higuain benched
4-2-3-1
Mandzukic
Costa-Dybala-Cuadrado
Matuidi-Pjanic
Sandro-Chiellini-Benatia-Licht
Santo Subito Buffon
Let’s *bleep* go
@rincon about Roma, naturally I’m inclined to agree with you, a lot of talent but young talent in that squad, EDF included. I think they’ll score a lot and finish top four, beyond that I can’t back them
