easy to look world class against Verona mate, unless you're a Milan player.

I didn't say he was world class though. I'm happy for him to get a couple goals to end the year, which also puts him at 14 goals in Serie A this season
I thought he was a ghost in the first half, the first goal really got him going

you don't think he's world class
how do you feel about a swap deal involving a certain afro headed belgian and a €15 gift card to Gelateria Alberto Marchetti

I know whatever i write won't change your mind, but it feels good for me to let off some steam
For the image of a football club, the crest means everything. Enormous lack of respect towards the fanbase in this regard.
JJ logo is idea older than you and me - Gianni Agnelli had an idea to unite everything under one letter J and to make it official and he was very close but he died.... He dreamt of having J as logo, official on and uniting everything unter it.... That's where the idea came from... maybe not same design but still...

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread: Part 2
Some end-of-the-half-season stats.
Napoli are winter champions and Icardi is top scorer so far. Oddly enough, Roma (with a game to play) has the tightest defense with only 12 goals conceded and Juve the most prolific attack with 48 goals and a+33 difference. Candreva has the highest assists (8 ). Benevento is on the worst ever run (iirc) with only 4 points so far. The most prolific forward in G+A is Immobile with 23 (16+7).
The top 10 separated roughly in the teams competing with each other:
1) Napoli 48
2) Juventus 47
------
3) Inter 41
4) Roma 39 (-1 game)
5) Lazio 37 (-1 game)
------
6) Sampdoria 30 (-1 game)
7) Fiorentina 27
8 ) Udinese 27
9) Atalanta 27
10) Torino 25
Compared to the points last season at this stage, Juve (-1) and Roma (+1) are roughly keeping pace. Lazio (+3), Inter (+8 ) and Napoli (+10) greatly improved, resulting in a tight race up top. Milan (-14) is the biggest negative mover.
In the capocannoniere race 3 players stand out:
Icardi 17
Immobile 16
Dybala 14
Mertens (10), Higuain (9) and Dzeko (8 ) are lagging. Belotti (4) completely fell off the map due to form, injury, and changes at Torino.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread: Part 2
I'll throw some names for my opinion on nominations and stuff so far.
Best
GK: Alisson
Defender: Chiellini
Midfielder: Luis Alberto
Forward: Immobile
Best transfer: Skriniar
Worst transfer: Calhanoglu
Team of the season so far:
Alisson; Kolarov, Chiellini, Skriniar, Florenzi; Insigne, Sergej, Luis Alberto, Verdi; Icardi, Immobile
Its a bit heavy in Lazio because imo they are carried only by 4 players (the three in that team + Strakosha), they pull a lot of weight compared to Juve, Napoli, Inter and Roma where everyone is good.

Florenzi back and performing well huh? good to see after his injury issues. If they don't plague him in the future, can easily be a top 5 player in the world IMO. Can't wait to sign him.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread: Part 2
Yeah he has been performing at his best since he came back. Still much better than Bruno Peres so he plays RB mostly since that's where Roma needs him most. Has played upfront and done well as well.
There is also not a great selection of fullbacks around. For RBs: Licht is a corpse now, De Sciglio has been great but injured too much, Conti tore his ACL, Hysaj is good and consistent (my #2 choice) but now fills in for LB since Ghoulam got injured, D'Ambrosio is solid but not much more, Spinazzola had a rocky start to the season since the transfer saga, etc.
LBs are better with Alex Sandro, Ricardo Rodriguez, Ghoulam (best, but is long term injured since the City game), but Kolarov has been in beastly form for Roma.

Having owners is what is fraudulent in the first place.
On the pitch, getting owned is embarrassing and horrible, but off the pitch fans are to welcome and cheer for owners?
Makes no sense.
The greatest clubs continue to be run as, well, CLUBS.

Very nice match between Napoli and Atalanta. Atalanta slightly better so far, can see them winning this unless Napoli sub in the big guns and the come out firing.

Insigne playing immensely since coming on. Wonderful season from him so far, his best. Napoli look like a completely different team now with him on.

Rog looks like he will be a player. Was way to raw when he arrived last year. Now looks much better in his movement and link up play. Has some sexy as hell plays every once in a while, the talent shows.

Atalanta onto the SF. We'll play them should we win tomorrow.
EDIT: The jinx Insigne cross to Mertens header. 1-2. 9 minutes left.

Re: The 2017/18 Calcio Thread: Part 2
Everyone's favorite competition is back with everyone's favorite team. Last CI QF tonight.
Szczesny; Sturaro, Rugani, Chiellini, Asamoah; Marchisio, Pjanic, Matuidi; Dybala, Douglas Costa; Mandzukic
Milinkovic-Savic; De Silvestri, N’Koulou, Burdisso, Molinaro; Rincon, Acquah, Baselli; Iago Falque, Niang, Berenguer
Expect a Dybala goal since Mandzukic is CF, and not a Mandzu goal since he has literally 0 crosses in the lineup.
