Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
That was such a weird fight to score, mainly because the rounds Canelo won he won easily and the ones GGG won he was pressuring but rarely landing anything at all but luckily for him Canelo wasn't hitting him back so you are kind of forced to give them to GGG by default.
I ended up going with 7-5 Canelo but there were a lot of rounds in there where i felt like neither guy deserved anything.

Only thing I learned from this fight was that Borat's accent was pretty spot on

Such a sad state boxing has come, money ruins everything. Long gone are days of fighters.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Bs judge i don't understand what's his problem, Stevie Wonder would submit a more accurate score.
Because of this "lucky" happenstance HBO will get them $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ from a second fight

It was a woman I think. She's done this a lot.
I thought it was a draw overall.
Canelo got the better hits but GGG has such an amazing chin. Taking punches perfectly

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
The result in itself, i'm ok with that. The judge #1 scorecard is what shocked me.
i had 116-112 Golovkin
He is my favourite boxer so i might be biased, but no way he lost more than 6 rounds. Can't say Canelo deserved to lose either.

Re: Boxing thread - Part 2
Tyson was on personal spiral down by then, Cus had died, his best friend Jim Jacobs died, and his wife destroyed his only friends, he fired his long time manager Rooney who then sued him I think, and then fired the other manager Bill Clayton who also sued him. Nothing was left from his original team, and he had stopped training couple matches ago. He was on news every day for fighting his wife, crashing his cars and what not.
Even then he should have won the match, Buster won the match with exact same count what he himself suffered before in the fight. It was unlucky, if Tyson had managed to win that fight, it would have probably served as a warning and he might have then gotten his act together and destroyed boxing records.

Same way Andre Ward beat Kessler. No idea why it's not a more common tactic

Obvious really. The ref stopped momentum 5 times to check on the eye and gave him rest.

He literally had his hands up to protest ffs. AJ should have finished him off or let Takam take it to another round.
Stopped too quick.
