Robespierre wrote:Juve priority is Champions League, it means " snubbing the Scudetto " ? No. Same for Napoli about CL / Scudetto , just "opposed main targets"
Napoli played with ALL starters in Uefa Champions League and they fought till the end to go on ( it was enough to watch their matches ), that' s enough . These are facts, the rest are suppositions.
De Laurentiis is the most stingy Italian president, Napoli make mercato just if self-financed, so imagine he 'd have gve up on to CL revenues
Even unreal to think it
Napoli intentionally dropped Jorginho and Allan in 4/6 of the CL group games (Allan started the final match though).
I don't think we can find another team in this season's Champions League that rotated to the detriment of their team when qualification was not assured. I know its just two players but think of the meaning and the importance that Allan and Jorginho have on the way Napoli play. I think its a quite clearly the wrong mentality not to play your best 11 in the Champions League and I've seen numerous Napoli fans defend and commend this attitude in other forums.
With that being said, I watched many of Napoli's CL games, I would never say they blew it off. They played extremely well with whom they played with, but dropping two of your best players in the majority of your matches in anticipation of Serie A matches to come, as echoed by your owner/manager, is a clear indication of their intent and I will never hear a proper justification to the contrary

So 9/11 confirmed
Rotate one-two players
Even Inter in 60s did it

Regardless of how Sarri is handling his squad , I think they're pretty overhyped tbh. Already lost the H2H with Juventus. Playing like a pub team in CL. I mean if they were as good as they're hyped , they should be able to beat teams like Feyenoord even with 2 or 3 players missing in CL. This Napoli aint special to me.
I can understand why theyre so overhyped tho. Because this is a direct consequence of the lack of competition in Serie A.

*2 of their best and most important players
I don't have to go back to the 60s to say that no "top" team would ever think of resting any of their best players in the Champions League without having qualification secured
It's not the reason they did not qualify, but it does reflect their mentality

Well we are not talking about Insigne, Mertens , Callejon or Hamsik...
Indeed their hype depend on beautiful football , quite atypical for Serie A

So Bilbao, Milan, Arsenal, Marseilles, Atletico, Leipzig and Lyon are practically in R16.

Yes the Napoli overhype comes from the style. Roma won more points than them last season but they did it playing "regular" football so there is less noise. They should not be hyped at all in europe, they dont have the squad or mentality for it. Its Serie A or nothing.

Re: Official Europa League>>>>>>>>>CL thread 2017/18
It was said multiple times and it is as simple as obvious... Napoli cannot compete 100% on both fronts. This year the focus is on the scudetto because for once in 21st century they have a realistic chance to win. They are gambling their european campaign for it.
If some think Napoli has in fact 0 chance to be champions, fair on you guys, but that's another debate. Then you have some Juve fans (who know their team enough) telling you we might drop the title this year for a bunch of reasons all revolving around Napoli being at their peak and Juve being in transition.

Engish officials
It's 4 minutes added time just for the sake of it
Anthony Taylor has been angling for a sensation all night
He'll probably give a penalty to Napoli in the 95th minute

Of course, Taylor lets Napoli have another chance at 4:45min over time when he had all the time to blow off, with nothing happening, the whole 30 seconds before.
These English refs should get lashed after every game, with the number of lashes corresponding with the number of seconds they let the game go on over the added time

Re: Official Europa League>>>>>>>>>CL thread 2017/18
Red Bull lost their midfeild backbone when they took Bruma off, dont understand the move at ll. I have said this before,Liverpool are signing the wrong guy in Keita, they should be signing Bruma, now, to be fair, Keita has been poor this season, since he signed for Liverpool, so maybe he is just saving himself for next season?
Red Bull hang on to win 3-3 on away goals. I would like to see Red Bull do well, I dont care about50+1 rules and evil vodka mixer sponsors and all that stuff anymore, but I just cant trust a team that loses to Frankfurt.

Reus is injured again? I see he is on the bench at least, but I do recall he went down injured at the weekend.

While on topic, I thought that Laimer, the guy they singed from Salzburg, was terrible at right back today for Leipzig
