Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion
least followed pre season period ever for me, even now I don't know many signings teams have made
pretty hyped to see PL back though
gonna be conservative with predictions for our upcoming season though, think it will be worse than last year, we won't win anything, CL QF's and 3-4th in the league.

Tomorrow? There's game on Friday?
Also Firenze Spurs have bought nobody and Sold Walker, there's more chance of them finishing outside the top 4 than winning the league tbh.

Can't wait for an impressive 1-0 for Arsenal and RG to claim it's his year tbh.

This is 100% true
Club is becoming very Arsenal like rn between selling their fullback (s? We'll see with Rose) to City, stadium financing and lack of ambition.
Thankfully Poch is a much better manager than Arsene

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion
Yea because I'd love to see Pochettino keep Spurs in top 4 with the likes of Chamakh, bendtner, Song, Denilson, Silvestre and Squillaci.
pls go
On a serious note, Spurs really really need to evaluate their wage structure. Kane earns poverty money compared to other strikers on his level in the PL. Next year he either wants a 250k p/w or he wants a move to Chelsea.

For the record i don't think you'll finish outside the top 4.
I just don't think you'll finish 1st either lol, 3rd is probably the most likely.

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion
Poch finished second with trash like Walker, one season wonder Kane, half fit/half dead Dembele, two left feet Wanyama, young Dele, and not good enough for Atletico/a top team Alderweireld. Hardly any better than that Arsenal squad if you ask me
Agreed with your serious note. Either the wage structure is restructured soon or Spurs will go back to falling out of top 4/finishing sixth. I don't think that will happen though with the stadium being built.

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion
If CB rephrased his post to better than Wenger in 2017 i'd agree with him wholeheartedly tbh.
Not Wenger in his coaching prime though, which ironically was during the time he had to manage some utter shite.
Waste of him as a manager really.

I'm just having a laugh tbh, career wise it's much different and I'm not serious.

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion
Just seen the Danny Rose comments, Lot of truth there that he had the balls to come out and say, Almost every footballer feels the same way personally. The stuff about his mum distance living in Leeds and him in London is shite though.

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion
This feels like 14/15 all over again when you pretty much already know the outcome. City have the title wrapped up before the season's even started.
Chelsea's short on BOTH quality & depth while Man City have both in abundance. Tottenham haven't signed anyone & have lost a key player. Arsenal & United aren't threats and Liverpool failed to solve their defensive frailties.
Chelsea made some good signings with Morata, Rudiger & Bakayoko but it isn't enough. We shouldn't be going into yet another season with Alonso, Moses & Pedro are first choice starters. Terrible CM depth as well.
And most worrying is it'll now be 5 years & counting since we actually signed a World Class player.

Re: Premier League 17-18 Discussion
Looking at the full context like that, it's not quite as bad from Rose, but it's still pretty bad to come out with all of this days before the start of the season, to a shitty newspaper, and clearly with a large ego as the guy was barely better than average before Poch.
He owes the club everything. If this is how he felt I hope he should stress it to Poch and management, tell them he's unhappy and wants to leave or something. Don't spend the whole summer being quiet and then at the very end unsettle your teammates and managers by giving an exclusive interview with the Sun.
Highly unprofessional, but good on him for having the balls to say it I guess.
