I figured there could be a big swing with the reviews but didn't imagine it'd review as badly as this
Why in the world were you so hyped for it? It looked generic as f. The Mafia 3 of zombie games. You are better off buying Resident Evil 2 or Metro Exodus.

Days Gone.
What a generic Motherf**king name.
Everything about this game bar maybe the graphics seem so intensely outdated in concept and execution.
Worst hypejob by Mole since Vurnon Scrubnita

Good soundtrack and story, TERRIBLE missions and bad gameplay. Even the devs themselves said they had to sacrifice gameplay/missions because of budget and time.

I don't agree the gameplay is bad at all, if anything i liked it more than GTA. It has terrible mission scructure but the core gameplay mechanics isn't bad.
Also the fact you said it has a good story means it shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as by the sounds of it Days Gone story sucks lol.

In fairness to me the video in the OP is the reason i was hyped Which was nearly 2 years ago.
I was excited by the idea of how systematic the gameplay seemed to be and some of the core ideas seemed to work.
Since then i've been slowly turned off when i realised it didn't really work how i thought and it became more and more clear that stuff that needed to be good ( as in story and overall gameplay/mission design) were not.

I played it when it was free on PS+, the driving and shooting in GTA 5 felt miles better and that released three years ago.
The plot in Days Gone seems divisive, some reviewers saying its good, some saying bad.

Re: Days Gone
I enjoyed it because of how weighty the shooting felt, especially the shotguns.
There was extremely good feedback from when you shot and how the AI reacted to it which isn't the case in GTA. driving was ass if you didn't play on Simulator mode but i enjoyed it once i did.

Lol not a surprise at all
Every single gameplay looked like it was a rust mod than an actual AAA game.

I believe you. And when it comes down to it the game can be summarised as something with very high production values (given its exclusivity) but poor execution, lack of originality and just outdated overall.
This may just spell the end of this generation as I see it unless we've some final fumes left.

Re: Days Gone
I think the idea was that this generation would end with Kojima's new game, Cyberpunk and The Last of Us Part 2.
I still suspect they are the goodbyes for the generation like how GTA 5, Bioshock Infinite and The Last of Us were for the last generation.
But i guess we'll see if they just go straight to PS5 or not, i suspect they won't as that's leaving a lot of money on the table but we'll see.

You don't need the reviews to play a game if you really wanted to.
There are many who would love days gone so just try it and see.

Re: Days Gone
What RG said, if you think you'll enjoy it then don't let reviews stop you.
I've played many games before with similar scores which i loved like the aforementioned Mafia 3.
If you're concerned at all maybe wait for a price drop first but if you liked the look of it before reviews likely is you'll like it now.

Re: Days Gone
Watch Dogs wasn't terrible tbh. I expect this to be better. I've seen some stuff in reviews that make it sound like it'll be a fun but flawed game.

Re: Days Gone
This looks to be worse than a 'picking up when on sale' game. Who made a thread for this pos game?
Re: Days Gone
I got it yesterday but won't be playing it until this evening, one thing I've noticed reading impressions online is the huge disconnect between users and reviewers, a lot of positivity around it. Although my sample size isn't the best, just reading ResetEra.

Re: Days Gone
Played for 90 mins earlier, not that big on how it controls, graphics are great, settlement/camps are cool from what I've seen, atmosphere is GOAT. Really nails a TWD vibe.
Already can tell it's a game I probably won't finish though

Re: Days Gone
There's been a lot of people saying that reviews got sent out way too early and reviewers played a broken mess.
Which would explain why user reviews are much higher than critic reviews and feedback from players seems generally more positive.

Re: Days Gone
only played about 1 hour so far but i like the game. controlling the bike is not great but getting upgrades im assuming will fix this. graphics are top notch and the stealth play has been good. the crossbow is great for picking people off without alerting the other bad guys. i also like the collect and craft items part of the game and having to scavenge parts and fuel for the bike is good and is a bit like having limited carry slots in resident evil. you crash your bike or waste the fuel and you are in trouble. but as i said im only a small way into the game as of yet but it defo looks like a game i will play to the death.

Re: Days Gone
Not bad at all, considering the developers themselves admitted to having to rush the game out. There really aren’t a lot of notable releases around this period, though.
