Brazil sucks balls because they have too much talent up front but very little in the middle of the pitch, the midfield quality dropped off hard.

Messi took a team with Lavezzi, Enzo Perez and Biglia to the WC final. Vinicius performance with Brazil is inexcusable. Basically a non factor in that team. It's not even average it's downright dog shit. This is why Rodri deserves the B'dor more.

Can't just completely disregard NT performance, Neymar was carrying Brazil with bums like Oscar, Fred. Paulinho and Hulk.

let's also not forget messi with Argentina never went well until they got a competent coach. There have been times where Argentina were looking like they might not qualify

leave lavezzi out of the mention he was incredibly skilled even if inconsistent and made top defenders blush many times.

though vini's poor stints for Brasil do not seem tactical on my eye he just does not do the fundamental things well during matches, though indeed this Brasil is poorly trained and coached.

By carrying I meant he made Brazil look like a team and many rival players have commented over the years that Brazil had a fear factor mainly due to his presence. Ultimately winning trophies is a team effort and comes down to the dying minutes like Germany-Argentina in 2014. A few minutes and several Higuain misses separated Messi from being regarded as a failure or as a success NT-wise in that year. Vinicus doesnt even warrant a starting spot.

Imagine thinking the best player in the world does not warrant a starting spot. Maybe he should threaten to quit in multiple pressers so that he can get a series of penalties and favourable decisions to win competitions.

WC 2014 was his only good tournament but even calling that a carry job would be very generous. He was excellent in the group stage but hardly stood out in the knockout stages.
