Mbappe vs Rashford
Next CR7 and Messi rivalry IMO. Rashford being the latter, Mbappe a better finisher but Rashford's overall game is much better IMO.

Right! I really would like this thread sticky-ed. For historical GL purposes.

Re: Mbappe vs Rashford
Mentality wise right now I think its Rashford > Mbappe (dont know much about the latter's mental side, so correct me if I am wrong) . And that's really what matters when you are young. Both are hungry and humble. Its pointless to compare their performaces at this stage. Some 10 months ago, there was a certain Iheanacho and people were saying he was better than Rashford. Wonder where he is now?!
1 quality Rashford has got in abundance is his willingness to learn. His drive is something else. Almost Ronaldo-esque in many ways. Couple of years ago he was a very limited player. A mere speedster who mostly played in the youth setup as a winger. A 1 trick pony. His finishing was atrocious back then. He had promise but never was the most promising player among the youth ranks. His breakout last season happened cos of series of fortunate events. His career could have gone in a completely different direction if he was a different player mentally.
Now its been almost an year, he has gone from 'just another kid with pace' to a player with so much more to his game. And lately he has added free kick taking to his arsenal.
Jesse Lingard might be a poverty dabbing scrub but when he says Rashford's best is yet to come, you have my word, he is speaking truth. And btw Zlatan is the best thing that's happened to Marcus.
Current ability wise, eventhough its pointless as I said, if you insist yea, Mbappe > Rashy.

Both will pale in comparison to Patrik 'Ibra on Roids' Schick

Mentally rashford > mbappe is one of the funnier things I've read on GL tbh . Do you even watch CL elimination round games? Have you even watched what Mbappe has done to top clubs in Europe? Come on now
There isn't one thing that Rashford does better than Mbappe.... not one.
This reminded me of comparing Goetze to Neymar back in the day.

Nobody said Neymar was a real man... in fact, i'd argue the contrary. Heck of a footballer though.Tomwin Lannister wrote:Real men don't get injured when they're needed the most.

We will talk after Mbappe experience his first dip in form. Its all smooth sailing for him now. So he is naturally 'better than Rashford in everything'.
But then I do rate Mbappe well and truly as the best young talent in the world right now along with everyone and think he will keep doing well.
And it seemed from your post that you didnt really get what I was intending. Rashford's graph has constantly gone up. He wasnt even half the player he is right now a year ago.
So, let the Gabriel Jesus's and Mbappe's of this world take all the limelight. Rashy will continue working hard, be the underdog and keep surprising people.

i can argue that Mbappe and Jesus a year ago werent half the players they are today, they continue to get better and to improve in all aspects... you make itsound like they are static and not improving lol weak argument

Re: Mbappe vs Rashford
One thing that strikes me here in this thread is the demise of Gabriel Jesus. He is still young and he is playing second fiddle to one of the world's greatest strikers, but wow, last season he was the one of hottest prospects in EPL if not that world, but right now the only hot thing about him is the bench under his bum.
How things change eh?

Re: Mbappe vs Rashford
How fortunate are we that even our backup striker can score 20 goals a season. Or our right winger/forward can score 20 goals a season or our left winger/forward can score 20 goals a season.
Bah Gawd......139 goals scored already and still a potential 16 games to play. Is there no end to the madness

Exactly lol, besides he barely goes a game without scoring or assisting a goal.
He's significantly more impactful than most of the players this forum fawns over.
I don't want to have to keep defending him but real life isn't a YouTube video, impact is way more important than any of the decision making or overall play criticisms.
You can all keep criticising him if you want, but he'll keep actually impacting games way more than your favourite player.
