Why portugal has a bigger cofficient than France in the golden shoe?
I've seen some news that Bas Dost has 31 goals (62 points) in the golden shoe race, while Cavani has 31 goals and just 46,5 points.
How is this possible? I google but didn't find any explanation.
It's baffling.

Bas Dost 31 goals in 31 league games
Cavani 31 goals in 35 league games
Maybe this plays a role in the system.

Its based on the UEFA league coefficient when the season started. The top 5 leagues have a factor 2 to multiply the goals scored. Then the next batch of leagues starting at 6th multiply by 1.5, and so on.
Portugal was 5th and France was 6th.

What? French league was 6th under Portugal?
Ok then!
Also, I looked for the current table, and it's close that Italy will be above England next season...

Not that shocking really, their teams made deep runs in the Europa league in the past 5 years.
