Saw you watched Una too... really felt weird about that movie. Felt like a whole pedophile rape apologist movie at the end there. It was very mixed and I have a hard time examining how I actually feel about that movie.
Yeah yeah. The vibe is a bit weird to take in.
It was top acting by both Mara and Mendelsohn. I think though Mendelsohn was genuinely not a "paedophile" if you get what I mean, and the movie tried to push some "age is just a number" / "love doesn't take much into consideration" angle. Overall it was tough for me to get into the mindset of Mara's character. She seemed pointlessly reckless with her behaviour, as not a lot of her actions and words felt like it had a logical reason/cause behind it. And that's why I gave it a 2.5/5. Perhaps just poor writing for her character at the end of the day.
Kinda reminded me of two other indie films in recent years about psychologically challenged love - Touched with Fire (2015) and Better Living Through Chemistry (2014).

I don't know what anyone would think was GOAT in that movie other than Janelle MonĂ¡e.
Felt very generic.
What did you love about it?

It's a fantastic film. Please watch.
Baby Driver was great without being outstanding, but that's more because I rarely find these action/heist movies "outstanding", just out of personal taste. It was really well done, I would recommend to anyone.
Directing, music choice was superb. Acting was great, action top notch. Really enjoyable film.
Can't wait for Planet of the Apes movie ffs. Will have to wait for it until I get to a place where I can watch tho

Yeh thinking about watching the latest one. Does it have a good plot and suspense? Not really into pure action movies.
Falling Down any good?

Doubt you'll like it. It's very slow and not the kind of thriller you're looking for.

I actually really liked it but in no way was it better than Inception, Social Network or Black Swan. It was in my top 5 for the year, that was an incredible list of Best Picture nominees that year.
Also I have James Franco winning Best Actor that year.

Baby Driver
What a *bleep* movie. Edgar Wright is a genius. Those shots and the way he synced the scenes with the music was a work of art. All the characters were so good too.

- Spoiler:
- Kevin Spacey sacrificing himself for Baby felt out of character for me. Still love how complex all the characters were. Jamie Foxx was my favorite but Jon Hamm was so damn good too. We need Hamm to be a big movie star, this guy is one of the best actors in the world, period.

- Spoiler:
- The Kevin Spacey sacrifice really is what took the movie down a notch for me to be honest, I was really really high on it (still am), but when I saw that I kind of recoiled a bit. It was out of character not only for the specific character of Kevin Spacey, but out of character for any crime lord and to me seemed like lazy writing. Sacrificing yourself for love of two people you hardly care about when previously in the film you threaten Baby with essentially taking and beating his girlfriend up? It just doesn't make any sense. I still enjoyed the ending after that because it was action packed and his face off with Hamm was GOAT, but that moment was a very clear weakness in an otherwise strong film.
I actually would have believed it more if Spacey helped out Baby just for Baby. It wouldn't have been great (still would have felt out of character), but it seems clear to me that there was at least *some* feeling Spacey had for Baby, regardless of the awful things he had him do (and was prepared to do to Baby)
