He had his worst match as a Juve player last night so it's a sensitive moment to ask this question
In general he came extremely out of form after having spent the season frozen out by PSG. Took him a long time to get up and running. Since then he has actually been good. Better than Ramsey which is shocking to me. The problem of last night besides his terrible performance is also one of fit. Him, Pjanic, and Bentancur don't compliment each other. It's all too slow to play them together.
Rabiot in the last 2 months has showed his class which is good. Now it's a matter of putting the pieces together properly to see if he does have a role in Juve's future or not.

Re: Adrien Rabiot
But when you've a coach who does not use him for his strengths and attempts to morph a totally different archetype from what he is, he will underwhelm in key moments.
Last night purely was Rabiot's fault and I have always said mentally he is highly unimpressive, mentality wise.

Re: Adrien Rabiot
He is fine, and he is the player he is, which at this point is pretty much a downgraded copy of Bentancur. That's what makes it redundant when he is played with Bentancur and Pjanic. We are better served by having a more intelligent player off the ball (Ramsey and Khedira) or a much more mobile player (Bernardeschi and Matuidi).

Re: Adrien Rabiot
His main quality is versatility, he's ok at everything, and exceptional at nothing. He's your third midfielder that complements two other world-class players.

Pretty much an exact description of his time at Juve. Except we don't have the two other world class players
It's a strange case because he has very nice technique and he has the height to impose his physique in midfield. So on paper he could be quite dominant, but he just doesn't seem to have the mentality for it. He feels a bit lazy.
So far this season I have a positive opinion on him and wouldn't mind him continuing at Juve. Not as the main guy though, like you say, as the third midfielder.
Bentancur's deal is also versatility, but he is just plain better than Rabiot at almost everything, so it's not the best fit to have them both next to a comatose Pjanic.

Re: Adrien Rabiot
We started the midfield with Pjanic, who started brightly and decomposed into whatever walking bag of shit you see before you now, Bentancur, who’s blossomed, Matuidi, who looks like he wears rollerblades instead of cleats, Khedira, who has regressed into his cocoon of everlasting injury, good lad Ramsey, RG’s second cousin so I won’t say a bad word about him here, Emre Can, dismissed by the tobacco lord himself and then Rabiot, the guy who lets his mom run his life and doesn’t even have the worst hair on the team because of Ronaldo.
Then you get this team of misfits that resemble the cast of the replacements and you want them to play like Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets and the fate of the team depends on the midfield’s ability to move the ball quickly and effectively and none of them have been good at that

Re: Adrien Rabiot
Problem is he is so entitled and lazy it is safe to say it will never go beyond that. In such a high level of football you cannot be trying to be the lazy artist unless you're Iniesta level of talent.

Re: Adrien Rabiot
Massive yikes
How do you spend 1 billion pounds and end up with a midfield like this ffs
Easily worst run club in Europe. We are a close second along with Levercelona.

Re: Adrien Rabiot
What is most incredible about Manchester United signing Rabiot for 18m€,
— Tancredi Palmeri (@tancredipalmeri) August 8, 2022
it’s that aside his poor performances, his contract is expiring next season.
Having second highest Serie A wages at 9m€, Juventus would have pay to get rid of him.
And they are getting 18m€…
United is a circus
I'm supporting Roma this season ffs

Adrien Rabiot completed 2.49 progressive passes for Juventus last season, ranking him in the BOTTOM 12% of midfielders in Europe.
