That's not suspense though, at least not in the Hitchcockian sense.

Hitchcockian suspense is defined by us, the spectators, knowing something the characters we're watching do NOT know.

For example, we are watching a girl sneaking into the office of the perverse chief psychiatrist of the asylum, looking for incriminating material. What she doesn't know, yet what we can see in a parallel-edited scene, is that the chief psychiatrist has already left his lunch early today because his stomach couldn't stomach the green beans, is already halfway back from the canteen, while the girl is still rummaging through his desk drawer.

WILL SHE GET OUT IN TIME? OH GOD SHE'S GOING TO GET CAUGHT!!

In the end she's never caught. That's the responsibility a true suspense director has towards his audience. Torment them, but reward them with relief.

That's the only thing a Hitchcockian suspense situation and the Wenger situation have in common:
We know there is a happy end as Wenger always stays.

Much like Un's dead grandfather is still Supreme Leader of North Korea, Wenger will manage the club from beyond the grave.

I imagine the next manager when Wenger dies at 102 will be sitting in his office something akin to Kylo Ren with Vader's helmet.
