Ogbonna & Llorente on Juve radar, ' Mourinho says Llorente is ours? - He is well informed(smile)'
Juventus have admitted an interest in Torino’s Angelo Ogbonna and confirmed that they are still monitoring Fernando Llorente of Athletic Bilbao.
Speaking with Tuttosport on Friday, director general Beppe Marotta was asked about the club’s future transfer plans.
Centre-back Ogbonna is set to start for Italy tonight, alongside seven Juventus men, and he has a fan in the Bianconero official.
“He’s a talent,” Marotta noted. “If he was put on the market then a club like Juventus would have an obligation to be interested.”
Torino chief Urbano Cairo rates the defender, who can also play as a left-back, at around €20m.
Meanwhile, the official was asked to comment on Jose Mourinho’s belief that Juventus will net Llorente during the January transfer window.
“He may have some precise information, he is always well informed,” Marotta joked. “As long as he is on the market then he will certainly be of interest.
“We’ll look at our options in January – independently of Llorente.”
Marotta also assured fans that goalkeeper Gigi Buffon, contracted until June 2013, will soon sign a new deal.

We really are going to have probably the best defence the world if we snap him up.Interesting to see how our current defence will hold up in this year's CL.
I dont think he is target in the January window but i'm sure works have already been started in planning for next summer's shopping spree.

Now Ogbonna I do like. His performance in the 2-1 defeat to England despite playing a very weakened, young Italy team he impressed me. Not at fault for the goals and was very good on the ball. He was definitely a solid player.

We need to really assess what our situation is in January and what Llorente's price will be at that time. It may be worth it to wait for his contract to expire and sign him on a free during the summer rather than paying 10+ million for him.

but if his price does say drop to 10 mil ( or something in that region), we might miss out on him because alot of clubs are keeping tracks on the situation...

agree with you. we will certainly lose him to other clubs who offer crazy wages. it's better to spend 10-15 million rather than end up empty handed. as for ogbonna, I remember his interview stating that he doesn't like to join juve as he's loyal to torino fc.Cotes wrote:Juventude wrote:We need to really assess what our situation is in January and what Llorente's price will be at that time. Dont let him slip away like veratti.
To me Ogbonna seems confident on the pitch, and his ball control seems to be above average for a defender.
