He is just shy of being the player with most passes per game at Atalanta, with a relatively high success rate too (85%).

He has definitely looked better season than most of the Milan midfielders. An improvement over Pasalic/Kucka.

There is talk of a Szcezsny move to Napoli. Would seem like a good move for all parties involved.

I would keep him and start him if I was Arsenal, but for whatever reason it seems like he will move and that fans here dont particularly want him.

His season has been a LOT better than Hart's for example.

I agree with ES tbh, I completely understand what he's saying.

There's no point signing players just because they are better than the crap you have.

That isn't how you get better, you need to buy genuine quality. I have experience of this because Newcastle fans are constantly OK with mediocrity if they are better than the likes of Colback lol.

If the minor improvements pushes you up a couple of places in table, then it is worth it. The likes of Kessie and Fabregas would do that to Milan.

Minor improvements in the table lead to bigger improvements in the table, just look at Spurs in the last few seasons. The better you get, the better players will join, it's a snowball effect.

Fabregas would be a little more than a minor effect tbf.

Also Spurs had quality players the whole time so they only needed minor improvements here and there so probably not a comparable situation.

I stand by what I said though, signing mid table Serie A players even if they are better than what you have doesn't accomplish much.

Milan do have quality, albeit less than what Spurs had.

I feel like you guys are overestimating Milan's options in midfield. Kucka and Pasalic are their regulars for that role. Kessie would be quite a boost.

I get your point but unfortunately for Milan they just don't attract top players anymore. Not until they have some success. Only Bonaventura and Locatelli are decent players in Milan's midfield: one is injury prone and the other one is not even 20 years old.

Imo if they want to go back on top they must do it step-by-step. Should start this summer with a couple of non-floppish transfers for a change.
Kessie & Fabregas are far better than larvae like Montolivo or Poli. Not as good as Modric+Vidal but it's honestly better than nothing.

It doesn't need to be top players tbf, it's not a black and white situation just players with genuine quality who will vastly improve the team.

There's a big difference between WC players and mid table Serie A (or any other league tbh) players and hundreds of players who occupy between that space.

Liverpool were in the exact position they were before Klopp due to exactly this, buying mid table players because they happened to be better than what they have.

You simply don't get better like that.

Im not asking for WC players ffs, Mole is spot on, i want B+ players that have a capacity to become A+, Kovacic is a good example, why we spending so much on Kessie anyway? 30m? Are you for real? Kessie has shown nothing that Milan doesn't already have in the midfield, absolutely nothing.

We don't need someone with that ego coming into the team, miss trainings, doesn't care about dieting, on the eve of 30 only caring about his payday, because coming to Milan now as an old man is admitting defeat.

I want you to listen very closely, i'm not asking for world class players, i want competent young players who have a hunger to prove themselves, like Suso, who have the capacity to improve and get better.
