lol why would anyone be supportive of Nazis still today??? Isn't it equivalent to being supportive of mass murder etc.? Thats kinda *bleep* up. This shouldnt have a place anywhere in the world, I don't like how the US stands in this matter & allows this.

Imagine being a WW2 vet who stormed Normandy and tore down Nazi banners only to see Americans toting swastikas in 2017

Swastika is a symbol of peace and well being. It dates back 11,000 years before the Nazi even created their own rendition of it.

Nazi's used another version of this, WHICH IS NOT CALLED THE SWASTIKA.

Swastika is a Hindu, Buddhist & Jain symbol used in almost all ceremonies and prayers.

Please spread this information and do not ruin something which is a big part of history like the Nazi's did.

Its tainted in the west. People aren't trying to hear what it represents to us in the east because there is the blood of millions associated with it in the west.

I don't think it can be saved.

Try telling people who had their entire families wiped out that that isn't what the symbol stands for.

Just let it go. That one's a lost cause. No point trying to save it.

I just said they are two different symbols mate, You just made the same mistake.

And its not about saving it, It exists. The Swastika is used by more than 2 billion people on Earth and none of these are Nazis. A lot of them are vegetarian though. "Let it go" is a another very weird thing to say considering it will always be used in the Eastern cultures probably till the end of time.

I don't really care about what It stands for etc as im not religious, But its caused problems for people as I have been reading.

People shit their pants if they are ignorant about the symbol when they come to this side of the world. Imagine backpacking all the way from Europe to reach a Buddhist Monastery by foot somewhere in the high altitude 4000 metre plains of Tibet and you see a Swastika only to confuse it with Nazism. Sigh.

Anyways. Im just helping people get a bit more globally informed about things on the other side of the planet. People who read this will probably think twice before calling it a Swastika.

My point: You're NEVER EVER going to wash away the symbolism of Nazis from the swastika so stop trying to. Whether that's what it was originally meant for or not doesn't bloody matter. Fact is, it was used as a symbol of one of the most horrible events in human history and it was worn proudly by the perpetrators. If it didn't involve millions of people dying then yeah you could flip the narrative at some point. But it did. And that's that. So there you go.

I don't plan on washing it away mate, I've probably saved you from a long lecture of information or History class or incessant frowning or possibly beatings when you now come to Asia.

There have been attempts by American companies to "re-claim" the Swastika much like surf companies reclaimed he Iron Cross, but they have all failed. So I agree with Barrett, it very likely will never be done.
