Zubizarreta named OM Sporting Director

Not thrilled about this one compared to Rudi Garcia. I think his time at Barca wasn't as bad as some would have it seem... but it also wasn't great. Mistakes like Mathieu, Vermaelen and Alex Song offset the good signings in Suarez, Neymar, Rakitic, Mascherano, Ter Stegen. Cesc and Alexis Sanchez didn't work out either.

My big concern is that, at Barca, he didn't really seem to scout the "diamond in the rough" or unknown talented players... which will really be the bread and butter at OM. You're not going to attract superstars.

We'll see. I don't like it.

Even those asshats at Barcaforum hardly have anything positive to say about Zubi as a Sporting Director.

Yeah it's a crap move... but then again, I didn't expect a good move after signing Rudi Garcia.  We don't make 2 good moves in a row at OM.  It's usually 1 good move followed by 10 bad ones.  So I'm not bothered They have 9 more straight bad moves they can make before I feel like they're approaching new heights in bad management.

Funny side story...  Zubi came directly from the airport to the new conference.  They didn't even send a car to pick him up.  He had to take a taxi.

As bad as he was, there are poorer Sport directors. Look at the ones we have now: Braida and Robert. It's been since Zubi tha we haven't signed any player that can start for us.

Zubi signed Rakitic, Bravo, MATS, Suarez and Mathieu in his last season with us. Since then, we've wasted 200M€ in mostly deadwood. Comeback, Zubi!

Umtiti, Digne and Gomez will become starters for Barca soon imo.

Digne should be a starter in no time.
