Re: The Movie House - Part 8
Also really love Byung-hun Lee. He's so great. Shame he never got his world wide breakthrough, at least not yet. But the three korean films I've seen him in are great.

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
He's probably the most famous Korean actor to western audiences though, I can't think of too many asians in general more noticeable than he is besides Ken Watanabe. I liked Byung Hun Lee in the few Korean movies I've seen him in but he seems to mostly do meh American stuff nowadays.

What a dick that one guy was. Nonetheless, as is the genre trope it gives social commentary and asks us what lengths we would go to if such a thing were to happen.
Best apocalyptic film since The Road
4/5

Best apocalyptic film since The Road
- Spoiler:
- Was kinda hoping it would end on an ambiguous note like The Road
4/5

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
- Spoiler:
- Yea that guy deserved a brutal death.
The main message the film tried to show was how far you will go in helping others as you said. Most of the guys tried their best to save the pregnant woman and the girl. Most died in that cause.
They have announced a sequel so let's see how that one ends up like.
It was a super bleak film so I was kinda expecting the soldiers to kill them two. But that would have pissed everyone off lol
The Road is good?

Re: The Movie House - Part 8
The Road got generally mixed reviews overall. If you search google you will get 7/10s and 70%s I think.
I loved it however. The cinematography was haunting and beautiful at the same time, Viggo and Asa were great as the Man and Boy. Most dialogue taken straight from the book, which is great because Cormac McCarthy, hello. I can see why it isn't for everyone because the narrative structure is a bit iffy overall, but I kinda saw it more as a visual GOAT in the dystopian genre, and great relationship and social commentary as well.

I also enjoyed the Road quite a bit, but then again there hasn't been a whole lot of Viggo movies that I haven't liked.

The Road was great. Very somber atmosphere, very intense action sequences and probably one of THE best post-apocalyptic movies of all time.
Viggo is great in anything he's in.

You guys should watch Captain Fantastic then. One of the better male performances in 2016 thus far.

Daniel Day Kim is probably the most famous Korean actor to western audience just because of Lost.

Come to Denmark I'll give you a free ticket!
I love Viggo, but Captain Fantastic was just good, not great. Loved every performance though.
Also love how he's someone who embraces his Danish heritage and has learned the language and visits here often. He's also such a great person. Really wish Scarlett Johanson would do the same, need to meet her, no homo.

Well, he isn't practically an American, he's very much technically an American. Lived there for basically his entire life.
Byung is the most famous Korean with Korean roles.
Really want more Korean leads in general, feel like Asian representation is somewhat lacking overall. Especially since it's hard to watch Asian movies anywhere, at least in Denmark, without having to illegal obtain them.

A History Of Violence is my favorite Viggo movie (apart from LOTR of course).

Nah I prefer The Road and Eastern Promises >> A History of Violence.
Obviously Aragorn is his goat role and films.

If Viggo had something close to a flop, it was probably Hidalgo. Though even in that, I liked him...especially his lines with the horse.

Dying at the fact his name is Daniel Day Kim.
Never knew. Is this coincidental.

Inception is my personal GOAT but this is up there. Top 15.
Btw watch Hell or High Water. It has a similar setting. Great movie as well. You'll enjoy it if you loved NCFOM.

It's a neo-western.
The time period is contemporary but has a western feel and tone. The particular events in the film take place in Texas in 1980.
It has the GOAT villain character bar none. This will give you food for thought about Heath Ledger's Joker being goat villain.
