Apparently in for Vela. If we want a short term option from MLS, why not Rooney? Would be a very good backup.

I honestly don’t mind it, since he is backing up Suarez he is likely to never play and he can play all positions really. Plus he’s very experienced. Just goes to show the types Valverde likes, with Vidal and Boateng. Not really “Barca DNA” types but KPB will likely be back at Sasuollo in the summer when we go look for Luka Jovic

Fart did it!! According to new reports DeJongs agent has just informed PSG and City that DeJong has chosen Barca! Fart to travel to Amsterdam tomorrow to finish the deal; fee rumored to be 80M.

Coutinho cost 150 mil and he's basically a bench player now so depends how you look at it.

At the end of the day, we should be glad we ended up with him and not Rabiot, I guess.

That's not bad at all and helps explain where Barca is getting its cash for these transfers. They havent even dipped into the actual transfer kitty yet and have worked off the players sold so far this season.

few rumors i've read about this deal.

Apparently we told DeJong 2 midfielders will be leaving, which will guarantee him a starting spot. My best bet would be Rakitic and Vidal but who knows.

I also believe Coutinho will be sold and will move forward with Dembele. Coutinho has blown in the midfield, and with DeJong arriving and Arthur Coutinho will never play in midfield for us again. And he cost us 130M, thats a way too much to be a bench player backing up Dembele. So it's a pretty good sign he will be booted out as he hasn't cut it.

Somewhere Cruyff is smiling down seeing this transfer happen.

My wet dream is that we also sign Ndombele in the summer. I cannot stress that enough.

Ndombele-Busquets-Dejong midfield would be orgasmic.

I think the shift will now be on the defense and attack. the club is clearly trying to replace all the 30+ players and investing heavily and one guy that doesnt have a back up is Alba and he will be 30 in march. Then there is also Suarez; we are rumored to be going after Luka Jovic.

wanted to add, De Ligt is rumored to want to follow De Jong to Barca. Even some rumors that he and his agent approached Fart while he was at Ajax today sealing the De Jong deal. Just like De Jong, he is a huge Barca fan and now wants to follow his bff.

I think De Jong will play as a CM for us until Busqs leaves, and then De Jong will play as a CDM.

Todays lineup against Sevilla looks to have Alena (or Arthur) as the CDM, so maybe they are trying to try Alena as the CDM for the future with De Jong as the CM?

I don't either lol but we played them in CL and he even played CB IIRC, in a 3 man defense. Generally seems more Busquets than Xavi to me but I'm no expert either.
