Re: Real Madrid went to court to try and stop an equal revenue share of the TV rights
Clearly you know nothing about our club and what we do for others
Just some seasons ago (2013 to be precise) we played a friendly in the middle of the league campaign against the once powerful Deportivo LaCoruna who were threatened with liquidation. ALL proceeds of the game were donated to Depor and everything was paid for by Madrid. Look at them now and compare tohow they were then. Until this day they still thank us
Half of the players in this league came through our youth system that they were able to get for cut prices. Every season teams in LL get players from our youth team that play a big role in helping them stay up/qualify for Europe places. No other team in Europe helps out their league as much as we do

Re: Real Madrid went to court to try and stop an equal revenue share of the TV rights
The big issue is that Real Madrid felt the LFP sold our media rights for far too cheap... they urged the LFP to allow Real Madrid to get involved in negotiations so that we could get the true market price.
That's the basis of the lawsuit. It's not about the pooled rights. Real Madrid is alleging that the Spanish LFP is incompetent... and they are.
Ligue 1, who is incompetent to some extent too, got PSG involved in selling its media rights and suddenly the bids went up by 3x. No idea why the Spanish LFP won't use Barca and Real Madrid as leverage in a similar way.

LFP should just give the marketing job to Perez. He'd do a much better job

Was initially just gonna ask Real has no class is nothing new, but then the more I read it seems they are not that bad.... jst wouldnt know the full details and reasons behind all this.... but why is Real the only club to fight it? Barca didnt oppose it...
Someone mentioned Bayern helped Dortmund when they were in trouble, this must have been some years ago? Hard to imagine them to help out their biggest rival if it were to happen today.

@BarcaLearning
That was in 2005. Bayern are also renowned to help smaller clubs in financial trouble by agreeing to do charity matches against them where the troubled club will get all the revenue. (Some of the other BL clubs did that, too, by now, like Schalke for Arminia Bielefeld and MSV Duisburg and Dortmund for Waldhof Mannheim and the MSV, too.)
When Bayern helped Dortmund, it was not too long after a season when Dortmund won the Bundesliga, while Bayern ended up 3rd in the BL.

Re: Real Madrid went to court to try and stop an equal revenue share of the TV rights
Bayern giving a small loan to Dortmund has nothing to do with this, neither has Real or Bayern doing some friendly matches.
This is about accepting to be part of a solidary system, not about charity.
With regards to TV money distribution, the PL is a solidary system, Bundesliga is, La Liga wasn't. As a result, the smallest La Liga clubs have ridiculously little money cmpared to the big two.
It's like people going "oh I don't want to pay taxes but I give sooo much to charity".

This is just rumor BL.... but because of the political implications involved if Barca were to fight this, the word is that Barca agreed to let Real Madrid fight this alone and RM agreed that it was a good idea.

Thx for the details, interesting, I guess its often one rival also needs the other to 'exist' and everyone to be a part of the system.
Im also in the opinion the league could do with an even more level playing field. Im sure the big two have enough income sources to keep their dominance anyway.

Barca has fought this as well. This isn't a new story. This has been going on for years.
