Messi does get dispossed alot more in these little dribbles forward. Seems like the transition to midfield player could be done in 1/2 seasons. Need his vision and passing much more these days then just his goalscoring ability

Don't understand the Messi criticism, he looks more fit than ever tbh
Re: Spanish Super Cup 2016 Sevilla - Barcelona
Well that's over. Remind me never to commit the sin or RJ every again
That said the scoreline does not reflect what happened this game. At 2-0 you'd think Barca were dominating but it's far from that. Still can't believe Sevilla traded Gameiro for Vietto

no criticism whatsoever, just more that he has lost it a bit in his dribbling. nothing wrong with that, he's getting older. in return we get this great vision passing messi in midfield. im down for that. imagine messi in a dortmund / liverpool / barcelona attacking midfield with players left and right going forward. he would pick passes al day long, maybe even better then xavidanyjr wrote:Don't understand the Messi criticism, he looks more fit than ever tbh

Sevilla are much a-running about nothing
La Liga is a different beast than Copa Bizarro, Sampaoli will be found out just like Bielsa

Re: Spanish Super Cup 2016 Sevilla - Barcelona
Match fitness is different to general fitness.
It is start of the season, he will be more sharp in a month
I have to say Barcelona played very well in the second half, it is almost as if Sevilla used all their energy in the first half and still didn't manage to test Bravo even once.
Compared to the Madrid match where they made Blancos look like Stoke City, Sampaoli needs to look at where things went wrong for them against Barça.

Re: Spanish Super Cup 2016 Sevilla - Barcelona
Sampaoli played 3 at the back against Messi/Suarez The guy has no idea
Sevilla were no threat to Bravo's goal either. They maintained possession well at times but did nothing with it
So far i'm not impressed with Sampaoli. Emery's Sevilla would have made Madrid's B team and still-not-in-form Barca pay

Re: Spanish Super Cup 2016 Sevilla - Barcelona
Why is 3 at the back so bad against Messi/Suarez? when Sampaoli has already beat Messi/Aguero with 3 at the back with Chile
The guys has only played 2 games with Sevilla. Give him time, Emery had 3 years with the team.

He sucks cuz they could go the Atletico-route and get a defensive minded coach that could get them further in CL than they ever have been before in recent years.
These attacking football coaches are entertaining but hardly a winning concept. In the end fans want more than good football

Sampaoli was extremely successful with Chile, he in fact won the first title for Chile ever, definitely a winning concept. He is no all-out-attack coach either, his teams are compact.

no no please, more of these in la liga please. we need the competition to be more competitive. it really is a 3 horse league now within a 5/6 point range and it should be a 5 horse league with sevilla and valencia also perfectly capable of beating us on their good day. let them be as strong as atletico.
while england throws around hundreds of million euro, making it a hyperleague, we can extend our homegrown status and even conquer europe for decades. more technical coaches and more attacking play.

It doesn't look as if Valencia will be very competitive- at least not as much as in the last 3 seasons. They are in bad shape going into the season and are also about to lose their main target man. The boss, Peter Lim, doesn't seem to be holding things together very well.

Sadly, Los Che carry a huge debt for almost a decade now, hence the decline and the sale of their biggest stars.
Another issue is how far they are behind the big two (three). And that is the fault of La Liga's TV right distribution. Players don't want to stay in the club any more, hence why Valencia (and other Spanish teams) sell players for cheap.
But yeah, the Asian guy has done worse than Salvo did since he's come. Obviously has no idea about football, and thinks he can easily replace his sold players with cheaper players. Same thing happened with Málaga, and this shit will keep happening.
When you compare it too EPL teams, they are just much more ambitious in keeping their players, but also because they're in a much better financial situation where they can attract players with big money wages Valencia cannot.
Sad, really
Re: Spanish Super Cup 2016 Sevilla - Barcelona
Sevilla team for this dead rubber of a second leg:
Rico; Mariano, Gonzalez, Mercado; Iborra, Kranevitter, Ganso; Sarabia, Correa, Konoplyanka; Ben Yedder
Could be a 4 at the back with Iborra dropping in to CB. Either way, the centre of the defence isn't in great condition. Gonzalez is a kid.

2-0 at the RSP. Not sure if away goals count or not but that's a convincing lead to take into a home leg.
