Re: How to Buy a Football Club
Brian Robson is probably sitting at home with custard pie on his face. This isn't a good look at all.

Re: How to Buy a Football Club
I thought he was full of total shit till I saw the pic with SAF and Gil standing next to him. Although, that doesn't exactly implicate SAF in any of this. I want to see something concrete before I jump to conclusions about anyone other than Don Sim.

Re: How to Buy a Football Club
Some Jackass by the name of Joe Sim is a Thai businessman who can't help but name drop Sir Alex Ferguson at any given moment.
Anyway, he wanted to buy into English football teams, in the Championship, as a shareholder along with Bryan Robson and these fake reporters. Instead of going about it the correct way, he wanted to exploit the 'Fit and Proper' ruling by using "investor" and fake owners as a face of the football team- a practice which has been made illegal by the FA.
Initially, he made outlandish claims that he rubbed shoulders with SAF and had contact to the likes of Harry Redknapp, Steve Bruce and others. Moreover, he would use his friendship to the aforementioned as a means of also exploiting the loan agreement of players to and from teams. It would later be revealed that he does indeed know SAF and that they are friend to an extent, according to SAF's representatives- but Redknapp and Bruce deny ever knowing the guy.
In all, the team he was looking to buy was infact newly relegated Sheffield Utd. Mr Sim, had been in extensive talk with them and was essentially trying to piece together investors; one investor being the undercover reporter where he was demanding £10m.
It wasn't exactly crime of the century, more so an insight into how easy it easy to wrangle through the "fit and proper" bollocks that's in place to protect teams from greedy foreign wannabes. Bryan Robson came across as a complete arse who should've known better. As for SAF, unless you have him sprawled across a Queen size bed getting his willy sucked by Kim Kardashian then I don't see this doing much to his credibility.
