An Arsenal fan calling Madrid a circus of a club ? When was the last time you got past the CL QF ?

This argument doesn't work, because the majority of the clubs don't go past CL QF.
Real buys players that have star power, but not the players they actually need.
The manager doesn't have any power there, and he gets the sack if he doesn't win a trophy every single season.
Besides all that, Madrid is a political club, which in itself mean that are more problems that in your regular club
Even Alex Ferguson called Madrid a circus club!

We won 2 of the last 3 champion's leagues... suck on that for a while.

I'm sorry but 'black Nasri' really is a poor, unfunny and inadequate moniker for Pogba.
The right name to use is 'rich man's Fellaini', or 'black Fellaini' if absolutely must be, so please go with one of those two in future exchanges.

Once upon a time... LVG was actually a very solid manager. He did a very good job building at Bayern (turned a very average team to CL finalists). He promoted Mueller, Alaba, turned Schwein into a classy MC, did some very astute buys like Robben and Gomez... all without breaking the bank.
I was actually hoping he'd do a good job at ManU, at least put you guys on your feet and all but... well, I guess the ego won that battle.
On Pogba: ManU got their player (remember they were originally after Sanches before Bayern snapped him, I'd say it's an upgrade in skill and price compared to an {arguably} younger player) and Juve got a very nice transfer value for him. They have had an awesome transfer window. Don't see the hurt. If Pogba wanted to leave, well, you got a nice price and it was done with enough time as for you to buy a replacement. Good business all round.
Pogba is nothing like Sanches!
Sanches is a defensive midfield player, while Pogba is attacking midfield player. His best position is number 10, that's why he had the number 10 at Juve. This is also the reason why Pogba didn't play that well for France, at EURO's, when he played in CM position. Just look here for his defensive stats http://www.squawka.com/comparison-matrix#serie_a/2015/2016/paul_pogba/717/177/2710/0/p|serie_a/2014/2015/paul_pogba/717/137/2710/0/p|serie_a/2013/2014/paul_pogba/717/76/2710/0/p|serie_a/2012/2013/paul_pogba/717/6/2710/0/p#attack_score/defence_score/possession_score/total_score#total
I have a felling that United didn't really want to buy the player, but Adidas did, remember that most of the money from selling shirts goes to manufacturer.
The same almost happened last year when United offered a crazy deal for Thomas Muller, another Adidas golden boy, but Bayern turned them down.
The biggest problem of this mega deal is that United is turning into Real, which is a circus of a club.
Sanches defensive? It's like the people who say Pogba is a DM... He's not defensive at all, even if he can defend. He can shoot and dribble decently enough, plus has the power to bomb forward. He is definitely not an only defensive minded player.
United did not want to buy the player but offered 40m-60m for him?
They offer crazy money because:
1. They are after players that are worth crazy money. One is a key Bayern player and German national and the other is an 18 year old prodigy. Pogba is the best CM talent in a generation.
2. They have crazy money. They use it as an advantage. If you have muscles, you flex them.
3. Market conditions are set in such a way, that what was crazy money 10 years ago is not crazy money anymore. Just take a look at what most PL clubs generate a single season. Football is an extremely commercial sport.
ManU a circus like Madrid? Manchester frakking United? Dude, you could label pretty much any big club by crazy and it'll fit. Every big club has had a crazy or constantly revive crazy periods. By that logic, Juve are crazy for buying Higuain for 90m, Bayern crazy for spending (up to) 80m on an 18 year old, and every single club crazy for spending 40m on any half decent young player.
Crazy is what the market is these days, so get used to it.

I wouldn't say the market is crazy, but a few rich clubs are, and they disrupt the market in a visible way. There are plenty of cheap transfers (most of the transfers) going on, but no one is talking about them.
Most football clubs are more and more dependable on their sponsors income. 51% of all United income is from commercial income (majority from sponsors), and this will increase this season.
Adidas signed a contract with United worth £750 million for 10 years. That's why signing Pogba makes sense for Adidas, because they will make the money with selling his shirts (in other words getting the money back, which was/is going to be given in the contract), but not really for United, as he wasn't really that exceptional for Juventus.
One thing is also funny, and that is, if a player has bigger transfer value, he is instantly better. Pogba is the best cm of his generation (although he is not a cm), and Sanches is a prodigy, although he played only one (senior) season for Benfica, while scoring 2 goals and assisting one.

A few rich clubs? You're an Arsenal fan, you know how much money the PL has. Relegation fodder that can survive a PL season have a bigger budget than most big clubs in other leagues. The amount of money the PL has is insane. You have Arab, Chinese and other Asian investors in European markets. The Chinese league buying top European clubs' transfer targets . Latin American clubs spend decent money, too. It's not just a few clubs. It's a global phenomenon.
Big transfer value targets are not instantly better (David Luiz, FFS). Anyone with a fair amount of football knowledge knows that. There are way too many factors to take into account. Most of the times are clubs really wanting a player, and most clubs reluctant to sell unless they get crazy amounts of cash. Nowadays any decent player goes from 20-40m, just cuz. They might be even mediocre players, but needed to plug a hole in some XI somewhere. It's just how it is. Sure, you can find a few decent prices or maybe even bargains (20m for Jese, example), but it's no surprise there's a lot of money being thrown around.
OK... I'm not even going to discuss your belief that Pogba is an AM... he's never even played there . But yes, he's an extraordinary talent and that's why Juve reluctantly let him go for such a price and United took the risk. Sanches at 18 going for such a price and to Bayern Munich of all the clubs, would mean he has impressed his fair share of talent scouts and some very knowledgeable people. You can even watch a few games and tell me what other 18 year old plays like that. There is great potential. Which is why he cost so much. Bayern are one of the few big clubs that don't throw money around just for the ego factor, most of the signings are done for a need.
You're giving me Wenger answers here . Must be one of the few pro-Wenger Gunners left.

Re: Official: Pogba returns to Manchester United
I haven't logged in a loooong time, but I just wanted to say that, in my opinion, Pogba went to the team that matched most closely to Juventus' valuation of Pogba. Even though I feel it's a heavy loss, Pogba was not essential in the team. He was an outstanding player, but we also had outstanding players such as Vidal, Pirlo and more recently Khedira [went fit. Nice info on Khedira: Juventus never lost a game when Khedira started a game. Although they lost against Bayern, but to me it all went to hell when Khedira was subbed in the 2nd half] and Pjanic.
I feel very confident that Juventus will replace Pogba with another outstanding player to contribute to the already great midfield we have. Moreover, Juventus had a real necessity for a prolific WC center forward [at least I consider him WC]. Juventus bought an essential player in an area in need of a player of that calibre. Juventus needed a WC attacker more than it needed Pogba, and that's the truth.
I repeat, this is just my opinion.

Since when is paying a large sum for a young top class player, with great prospects on and off the pitch, considered desperate?
Were RM considered desperate when they twice broke the world record fees for CR and Bale? Or when Barca paid exorbitant amounts for Neymar and Suarez?
In this day and age, you have to pay premium to get the best players. Utd have the money, and they went and flexed their financial might.
Don't let your butthurt'dness of Utd getting Pogba cloud your thoughts, lads
The fact that you are comparing proven top class forwards to black Nasri who wasn't even Juventus best player let alone best in the world shows even you are desperate just like Manu.
"Black Nasri"
Stopped reading after that.

Re: Official: Pogba returns to Manchester United
What stats does he need this season to not be labeled as a flop? Im excluding trophies and Top 4.
Had 9 goals and 14 assists last season. Feel that he needs to get at least 20 G+A in all comp shouldn't be too difficult.

There is no way he'll be playing as a DM.
Has to be played as a box-to-box, surely??? He's terrible defensively.
