For me? Maradona was the best ever, and for me Messi became better overrall player in 2013, considering ability and achievements. After that it has just re-enforced my opinion as Messi went crazy with Argentina carrying them to 3 consecutive major finals being player of the tournament in every one of them, and won another treble with probably the best individual season ever.
