I'm sure if maradona, and pele were to be playing today they would also have as much chances as messi now. Same with dinho, infact same with most other players that are tranquistas or players that play deep generally.

The only difference is messi loves to create and score at the sametime while others usually concentrate on one thing at a time either because of circumstance or ability. For instance I doubt messi will create as much had he been playing in front of dinho nor did he create this much with xavi and iniesta in their prime tbh

Pele with his professionalism edge in no way or form matched Messi's overall game, nor did Maradona with his doping edge, relatively. Even absolutely with their edges, Messi is better scorer, passer and dribbler than them. Ronaldinho said even receiving Ballon d'Or in his peak that Messi is the better player, how is he going to ever match Messi's peak years, even hypothetically? Nobody is even close in modern football.

And? It is a popularity contest. That's not like Messi is just a bit better than Cristiano, the supposed second best player of the generation(which i disagree). Everyone with reasonable football knowledge knows that they're not even in the same class, not even remotely close.

If the criteria was only to be the best player in the world, Messi would have won at least 8 of 9, 2008 would still be Cristiano probably because Messi was too young and Cristiano was already in his peak plus playing for best team at the time.
