Re: The 2016/2017 Calcio Saga
Roma have that hit or miss mentality. They're a great team but they need just a bit more hitting and less missing to win the title again. They have me hooked on Serie A tho. Decided to follow them after all.

Just checked the table, Juve already well ahead of everyone else
Was hoping Napoli and Roma could stay closer for a little longer.

Inter beating us backfired, we've gone 12-0 in the 4 games since

Re: The 2016/2017 Calcio Saga
Lose-Lose situation tbh....really doesn't matter whether Juve lost or won against Inter as they are good enough to simply get on with the next match and win it. There's not a lot of pomp around them and that's why they're so far ahead now. They just get to work. That's what juggernauts do.

Candreva has been good for them. Leads the team in assists. He is not a good scorer but is more of a midfielder, good for their balance. Their other option is Biabiany.
He's Gabigol
De Boer doesn't rate Biabiany even for Inter "B" ( not even called up on bench for EL )
Anyway I predicted everything in 1st of September http://www.goallegacy.net/t39830-predict-2016-17-serie-a-s-top-3#1663042

Candreva is actually effective when in the mood. Trouble is, sometimes he disappears.

Re: The 2016/2017 Calcio Saga
No one can really say now if its good or bad, I think the best way to see it would be: its Roma news .
Some things didn't work out but Sabatini is still pretty great. It could be a great move or a terrible move, what it is is a very uncertain move. One more unknown to the Roma puzzle.

Re: The 2016/2017 Calcio Saga
they never win anything and i think puzzle is the right term to describe Roma. Maybe they have a plan for someone else ? (Monchi)
Sabatini brings decent players for the club, to me are ahead of both Milan teams in terms of credibility right now. However, from an exterior pov, it seems like Roma never have any plan to build their squad. They just buy talented players who stay for 2-3 years then leave for a "winning" team. De Rossi and Totti are not eternal.
I'm curious to see how things will turn out for them.

Agreed, but I dont know if big flux of players is Sabatini's fault. He was at least able to bring a huge amount of very talented players to Roma. His only real problem was the defenders. Even then he brought some good ones (Benatia, Manolas, Torosidis, etc.)

Yeah that's the least we can say, quality defenders tend to not stay for a long time at Roma

Re: The 2016/2017 Calcio Saga
Sabatini's departure is good news for Roma.
I like the man personally. He seems such a character and really cares about the players he brings in. He's an excellent scout of young talent and can build a squad to start a project, but he's just not good with emergency situations and building squads for longevity with eyes on winning titles. The winter mercato of 2015 was simply unforgivable and represented a negative turn for him.
As for his replacements, I've read that we're after Monchi, Braida and Berta. Monchi's probably the one we're most after. Despite that, Saba's protege, Frederic Massara, will step into his role. Not sure if that's permanent or not though.

I see the 3rd place race dangerously prepared for AC Milan.
Mehntolivo was their main weakness , and Locatelli is the new thing.

Re: The 2016/2017 Calcio Saga
That graph with Milan's spending and Roma's spending shows you that Sabatini was an asset for Roma. Except, he perhaps was never the man to build a title winning team.
However, you can argue that no team could overthrow such a dominant Juve, and that Roma's problem was mostly choking at big moments despite having the personnel to win some games. Also, their inability to keep players have more to do with the decline in Serie A than anything Sabatini could conjure up to convince them to stay.

We barely beat Sassuolo by the skin of our teeth, how are we anywhere near top 3
Anyways, Milik has torn his ligament just now, reports say Napoli are fearing the worst

Geez. That's Roma-level luck for Milik.
I would call this an opportunity for Roma, but Napoli have 3 other players who are in great form. Plus Roma wouldn't know how to take advantage of a situation like this if Napoli wrote out directions.

Napoli with Milik was the only team that could challenge Juventus for the scudetto.
