my son did a dream team and pull a team out the hat with his work mates and won both. £100 on the dream team and £240 on picking the winner.

Seriously. I was rooting for France this tournament but they were lucky to escape a red card today

when you get all the way to a final, without a player, you can't just show up after the final and say "well if this guy...." they didn't miss him at all imo. portugal had a stern defense, and france reminded me of madrid early on in the season, when forced to have the ball got a wee bit confused. its not like france had a million and one chances.

It was the victory of a squad. And infact a whole squad resisteed and played against the France (and better than France ) , led by a manger very capable.
The courageous choice to insert Eder ( who'd have done it ? ) was rewarded.
I regret that Eusebio couldn't watch this.
I remind him after Portugual - Greece. He was devastated at the stadium after that incredible loss , the massive disappointment for Portoguese football.
I hope from sky now ...

I honestly at the beginning, I was neutral, I couldn't care less who would win. But the moment Ronaldo got injured and I saw his tears, I really couldn't help myself, I started cheering for Portugal even though I had no hope whatsoever they would win.

But really, it was completely deserved. They fought and gave everything they've got, and I'd like to believe that their captain's tears had something to do with it.
