Re: God of War
ravens could be tedious, especially since I didn't keep track and have taken out like 30 of them already, besides that same, it's an easy fun plat

Re: God of War
Getting annoyed at those specific optional bosses will be the only thing that stops me tbh.
I can always look at a guide for the ravens.

Re: God of War
I've smashed most of them that I fought, except one that was fought in an incredibly small arena that could be annoying, but I only fought it once and got it to half health. Don't like the sound of the one Nick was mentioning though. Gonna go read up in depth on Norse mythology and stuff later too. GOAT.

Been constantly watching norse videos on YouTube last few days, played the game less because of it smh.
Also I only fought one so far, will try and smash through some others tonight.

Re: God of War
I didn't find the game very challenging tbh on Normal, was overwhelmed by the combo's and stuff but eventually muscle memory set in, i think I only died about 4 times and two of those were to puzzle traps lol. But yeah, I've heard that boss is incredibly tough so I'm expecting that to be the challenge im looking for. Hard seems ridiculous though. Doubt I'd take it on unless I can carry stats and equipment.

Re: God of War
I've always been a fan of Loke (Loki) from Norse mythology. He's fked up beyond belief, but his character is really interesting.

Basically how I felt is it was challenging enough that if I made mistakes I would die pretty easily and they would still hit pretty hard.
Especially if it was stuff above your level, there were stuff in the world which I left alone because I was too underlevelled.
I found the combat insanely satisfying so that tells me it was decent enough, wouldn't have found it satisfying if I was just plowing through enemies.
I'm the same really, I'd try hard but only with an eventual NG+.

Re: God of War
Hard isn't that tough. Perfect balance. Feels like it's always dangerous but not frustrating.

- Congrats
I just beat the one in Alfheim which I couldn't figure out at all how to avoid it's attacks lmao. Luckily my gear just allowed me to power through it.
BTW you said the mist armor is the best in the game so I shouldn't bother upgrading the valkyrie armor?

- Spoiler:
- ffs you got the valkyrie armor only beating the valkyries in midgard got only 1 piece of gear after beating 7
The Ivaldi set of armors has better stats, the highest in the game. If you are planning to spend time in Niflheim, you will need it. plus you will need to farm mist echoes in the mist to upgrade it. You basically dont have a choice since you have to find a Valkyrie too

- Seriously? I have only done the ones in Muspelheim, Hellheim and Alfheim ones so far and they dropped gear everytime lol.
Got wrist armor, waist armor and a pommel for my blades.
Not attempted the midgaard or one in Niflheim yet.

Re: God of War
- Spoiler:
- yeah that armor comes with random drop when you beat a valkyrie, i was quite unlucky. Maybe you have some high luck stats too. I like the fact that you gain some health back with that mist set. but you will need to go back to Muspelheim too to get some materials to upgrade it. it's worth it

Re: God of War
Post game stuff
- Spoiler:
- Dunno if it's because I'm used to it now but the Midgard Valkyries were absolutely piss easy.
Did them all first try, unless the Queen is a massive step up I'm getting the feeling the "impossible" challenges in Muspelheim might be a bigger obstacle to me getting the plat.

Re: God of War
Just realized what's going on.
- Spoiler:
- Fought Baldur the second time and went to Hel.
Its the plant arrows. Freya was trying to protect Baldur when she took them from Atreus. I didn't remember that Freya was Baldur's mom, but she mentioned that she'd do anything for her kid or something like that.
I think I remember reading in myth that Baldur died from from some plant spear, that it was the only thing that hurt him. Atreus has been carrying around that piece of arrow in his quiver too.
I forgot where we got those green arrows in the first place. Was it Brok?

- Yes he has an asshole for a while now. Since you tell him he is a god he basically becomes all kratos hates.
Wanted him dead asap by the time we got to the summit to open the door to Jotunheim
I think he is about to calm down now. Just escaped from Hel.

Re: God of War
- Spoiler:
- I hated him during that point, I suppose that's that the point and in reality it's really good character development and storytelling but whatever the reasons they made me hate him.
To the point I was really behind Kratos and wanted him to put the little shit in his place, can't remember the last time a game got to me feel so strongly about something and be so firmly behind someone else.

Re: God of War
- Spoiler:
- Games don't usually just flat out try to annoy us like that. Atreus was POS. He doesn't mourn when you die like before. Just says "whatever". Wanted Kratos to stab him in the face tbh
Then he fires a *bleep* arrow at you during the second Baldur fight.

Re: God of War
Just beat who I think is the last boss.
The ending will have to wait until the CL plays out
- Spoiler:
- That last fight with Baldur was dark. freya screaming through it and then ending sequence with the neck snap. God damn.
