windkick wrote:I mean seriously, Brazil needs to sit back and look at themselves. They surely must realize they are steadily decreasing and I am sure a better side could of been out there, but Dunga's starting 11 was nothing to be excited about. Or is the issue deeper than that, down the youth development? Brazil used to pump out talent by the handfuls, now they are struggling to put the ball in the back of the net
Dunga is just stupid, with a competent and inventive manager we could field something like:
--------------GK-------------
Alves--Miranda--Silva--Luis
----------Casemiro----------
------Willian-----Marcelo---
Costa---------------Neymar
-------------ST--------------
We don't have any particularly exciting GK's or ST's right now, but i can't think a NT with an overall better line up than this, at best on the same level.

He is not ready yet and we have good options for the wings: Neymar, Costa, Willian, Coutinho, Lucas Moura, Firmino, Hulk, etc.

Gabriel Jesus is a forward and if we're deciding between Gabriel Barbosa and Jonas then I'd take Gabriel Jesus over both easily.
As for Gks, Diego Alves is solid for right now and Ederson looks like a good prospect. I feel bad for Roma with Alisson though.

Gabriel Jesus is probably a better player than Barbosa overall, but he is not a striker. If we choose to play with a forward i rather play Neymar there with Coutinho on the wing.

Re: Copa America 2016 USA - Group B
I disagree. I think Gabriel Jesus is a forward and would do great as a CF. He has the movement and the finishing for it. I think he's better than Barbosa at everything.
Also, Neymar is wasted as a forward. We've tried it the past few games and it hasn't worked at all. Either he becomes isolated or he drops back to create and we have no one there.
Coutinho is a weird case. A few years back I thought he had the potential to be our #10 if he became more consistent with his passing but it seems that now all he wants to do is dribble everyone and shoot.

What an absolutel disgraceful performance. How did we blow a 2-0 lead
Now we have to beat Brazil or hope Ecuador doesn't plaster Haiti if we draw Brazil

Brazil Perú will be a cracking game, since we can assume that Ecuador will win against Haiti and go through. What would happen if all 3 end up with 5 points? Is it based in goal difference or head to head result?

The ranking of each team in each group will be determined as follows:
1. Greatest number of points obtained in all group matches
2. Goal difference in all group matches
3. Greatest number of goals scored in all group matches
4. If two or more teams are equal on the basis of the above three criteria, their rankings will be determined as follows:
5. Greatest number of points obtained in the group matches between the teams concerned
6. Goal difference resulting from the group matches between the teams concerned
7. Greater number of goals scored in all group matches between the teams concerned
8. Drawing of lots

Re: Copa America 2016 USA - Group B
Gabriel jesus is just simply better than barbosa in every category of their capacity. So as a striker, gabriel jesus starting shouldn't even be a question. He's a forward through and through. Barbosa is made up by the media, from what I understand so far. Everybody wants 'X' brazilian player to be the new Neymar these days, and coming from the ranks of santos doesn't help that at all..
As for Neymar, he's a Godsend coming in from the left that I wonder where *bleep* dunga got the idea of putting him in the middle came from, with scrub supporting cast.
If a noob like me can already figure that out, I wonder why the scrub coach couldn't see it. Even zico echoed thesame sentiments a couple of weeks back.

Ecuador Haiti about to kick off in 30. Hope Ecuador wins by more than 2 goals because otherwise Brazil Peru will be an exhibition match.

You're there early. I haven't even left yet. How's the stadium looking? For Chile-Bolivia it was only 1/3 occupancy so I was able to go from my 3rd level seats to the 1st. Hoping I can do something similar again, but Boston has a ton of Brazilians.
Ecuador 2 - Haiti 0 at HT.
