Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 27
The flow of the Asylum match was awful because they were given 10 extra minutes right before they went out. I think if the match was 16-20 minutes instead of 26 minutes it would have been much better.
It was boring and the dead crowd made it worse, but they managed to somewhat redeem themselves with a memorable spot.

Seen Russo's review on the fatal 4 way. Apparently it was a spotfest with no selling.

IMO the match was part of the reason the crowd was dead lol. It took so long to get going.

AJ almost killed himself so Reigns could look good lmfao. It worked though. Reigns looked like a beast out there.

I agree. The beginning was dragged on way too long, however, it didn't help that they came right after the fatal 4 way in which the crowd went nuts for.

Hope he keeps the Razors Edge into a sit out powerbomb thing as a signature btw
Much better than most of the crap he uses.

Reigns looked like a savage. Was quite impressed. Hope he never forget that AJ made that happen

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 27
Russo shat all over the fatal four way because it wasn't a "believable fight" but praised the main event for its great psychology despite it having a guy being hit by a chair repeatedly, getting up and winning the match seconds afterwards
Can't take him seriously anymore tbh.
Pacing was the big issue with the Asylum match, as was the weapon choice. Ambrose is crazy so he uses a mop to beat people up? Okay, that's crazy, but not threatening. None of the spots felt particularly brutal until the thumbtacks came out - even the barbed-wire bat spot looked lacklustre because Ambrose sold it like crap.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 27
I find him to be insightful at times when he talks about writing (since I'm a writer as well and it doesn't hurt to listen to guys who've worked in the industry) and don't always disagree with him on the wrestling either. But it was just this particular argument about how the guys in 4 way, Zayn in particular, did things that weren't believable in a real fight that annoyed me. It felt like him trying to poke flaws in a match nearly everyone enjoyed. Even the host thought he was talking crap.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 27
Russo and Cornette have an old school mentality that wrestling should be based on psychology and storytelling, as opposed to spotfests with minimal selling. They basically say the goal should be to making wrestling look like a realistic fight like back in the day, as opposed to a choreographed ballet spotfest which it is today.

A lot of people being released currently. Might as well start up a new company for all of these former WWE midcarders imo.
