A$Ap Ferg and Dave East just sound like they've doing this together for way longer than they actually have. Paper Chasin'still my favorite track from them.

Never been into Dave East music. It's just nothing for me.
Been listening to Cardi B lately when I want to go full ignorant. Bodak Yellow slaps hard in the whip.

Never had intrest to female rappers except for Lauryn Hill & Missy Elliot. Cardi B seems like the female version of Meek Mill without the annoying voice.
Hope she makes more of these type of bangers.
Bodak Yellow on course to hit #1 on billboard currently at #3

XXXTentacion is a a good rapper, and IF he matures, again the IF, he could become a promising rapper.
Probably my favourite of the freshmen class. Just released a new track "*bleep* love".

No doubt, check out the new Ferg album if you haven't. It's solid.

Re: The Offical Rap Thread Part 3
Will do. Got that one saved on spotify.
Spawned by a posting on FB calling him a rap legend, I ended up spending most of today listening to J. Cole's entire discography. Some excellent tracks from his earlier stuff, primarily from Cole World, which is now my favorite album of his. I did not really like his latest album though although the last few songs were pretty good. I listened to all of the credits from "Note to Self" and it was hilarious . "Everybody dies" remains my favorite of all of his tracks. I do feel like he'll be considered a legend eventually, just not sure I buy that he's there now.
Next up: Kendrick Lamar and then A$AP Ferg's new stuff.

I like 2014 Forest Hills Drive and Friday Night Lights better than Cole World.
Love JC, also the best rapper when it comes to live performances.

Who knows recent rappers that have an "old school sound" ?
I only appreciate artists before 2010, now i'm willing to discover more
how i wish rap was still about

Re: The Offical Rap Thread Part 3
So you say their album is great but refuse to rate them?
I never said they are overrated for a classic, nor did u. U just rated them as great and thats so overrated to me.

They are literally tier 1 trash. Ferg is hit and miss and Rocky is good but his work for the mob has been bad

Re: The Offical Rap Thread Part 3
J. Cole is well known i believe, and an artist i appreciate. Him, Flatbush Zombies and Curren$y are the top 3 recent rappers that give me a good vibe.
Joey Badass is strong i admit, but i already listened to him numerous times. Good suggestion however, this is the kind of rap i'm looking for.
Kendrick i dislike. I've tried, but i just cannot enter his world if i can say it like that. Like Lil Wayne in my teenage years, never been able to hop on the train.
In fact i was looking for "underground" recent rappers that don't sound like Kendrick Lamar, Future, Travis Scott and all those guys. If you know some and care to share i will 100% give it a look.

Re: The Offical Rap Thread Part 3
Amerigo Gazaway at it again
He's paired Mos Def and Marvin Gaye, Pharcyde and Tribe, BB King and UGK, Fela Kuti and De La Sould and now this gem, Common and Stevie Wonder.

Did you just put Kendrick in the same class with Future and Travis Scott? Are you sure you're listening to the same Kendrick? Go back and listen to Section .80 and Overly Dedicated. If you don't like those two projects then you'll never like Kendrick. DAMN. is a totally different project that's more commercial.

I don't think they differ in being commercial tbh. They're pretty diverse in what kind of songs there's on them.
