I wouldn't replace him. I would keep these 3 till 2017 and then call Vallejo back as 3rd CB. Ramos is a too important presence on the pitch

Re: If you could sign a CB...
I would say Marquinhos but he wouldn't be a good pairing with Varane. Hummels has looked good now that he's over the WC... and he's a good fit. Only 27 and entering his prime as a CB. I'd try for him.

I should report you for trolling.
Laporte/Hummels/Insert_Italian_CB or Give Nacho/Vallejo a shot. What ever happened to Garay or M'biwa?
Though I mention hummels, I dont feel too confortable with him on a high line despite he has plenty experience being high up the field. I am not sure on Marquinhos...
Kolo toure despite his age and arsenal links, is very solid when on his game. Not many cbs these days throw their own bodies to block a goal like Toure does.
I like laporte tthe most.

Re: If you could sign a CB...
Koulibaly has been quite impressive for Napoli but he isn't a star attraction for Perez though.

Re: If you could sign a CB...
I worry about Serie A CBs handling pace consistently RG... they can do it for a game or two. But having to do it week in and week out gets me concerned unless the player is obviously athletic.

Jose Gimenez of Atletico, Stones or Hummels.
All of them will do much better than what our two senior CBs have been doing this year.

Re: If you could sign a CB...
Stones is bang average, mate.
Surely with Varane present, you'd want an experienced CB to partner him?
Hummels, Bonucci, Godin, or Koscielny would be great options.

Re: If you could sign a CB...
slow cb's doesnt work much in la liga or against barca mainly and with our defensive liabilities. why not go for the underdog and proven la liga (vsbarca) player like that villarial cb that i am rooting for.

Re: If you could sign a CB...
I personally look for a CB that plays in a system that is positive in terms of style... so the CB is playing relatively high and has to cover a lot of ground since his teammates are regularly also caught high leaving him exposed.
CBs that operate on teams that play compact and defensive have a high risk for me since it may not translate well to the style we play.
That's why I like Hummels... he's effective in a higher risk system. Godin? Not so much. Atleti play very very low and compact. He doesn't need to cover a lot of space.

I just think Everton is so badly set up at the moment , not to mention their very low morale. He doesn't have the speed but he is very intelligent and there is lot of room for improvement.
Bonucci is not a good defender. He is basically poor man's hummels.. Good on the ball but that's it.
Koscienley is Ramos lite.
Hummels is probably our best at even though he has some absolutely brain dead moments occasionally.
Re: If you could sign a CB...
Chris Smalling is also very Solid... Most trust worthy defender in PL imo. Forgot about him.
Re: If you could sign a CB...
I still value hummels as our highest priority. If varane can grow into that kind of CB role then all the power to him. I think him and hummels have similar styles, but a Hummels-Varane partnership looks really damn good.

Re: If you could sign a CB...
Ramos played like a true captain today. Games like today is why I love Ramos, he's not a pussy like Thiago Silva, he has cojones of the size of a VW Touareg. He's unbeatable when he's focused.

Re: If you could sign a CB...
I will never understand how koscielny is considered a good cb. Disgusting. Arsenal players should be exempt by default.
Re: If you could sign a CB...
Koulibaly would be my pick for you guys, he has excelled at Napoli and would be a good compliment to Ramos/Varane. He plays like a more steady version of Pepe.
