Didn't really get the hype. Wasn't all that.

If you've seen Pocahontas or (perhaps more accurately) FernGully, you've seen Avatar.

I think people just hate it that an average-to-good movie is the number 1 box office hit of all time.

Re: The Movie House - Part 7
Ok so Zootopia was great. Really enjoyed it. Doesn't have the same resonance that Inside Out had last year, but this is bound to be Disney's obligatory big hit of the year.
As is my custom, I've watched a few of the Oscar movies now that the hype has died down on them.
Bridge of Spies - I though this was merely good, but not great. Standard Spielberg/Hanks fare that I've come to expect from them. This makes me an even bigger fan of Mark Rylance though, who I just recently discovered in Wolf Hall. Fantastic actor.
Spotlight - I also found this one to be a bit overrated, though I did like Mark Ruffalo's character perhaps the best. No one else was particularly likable to me enough that I cared about them. I feel like the source material did a lot more for getting this move it's Oscar than the actual production itself. It was readymade Oscar material and if pulled off right, a win would probably be assured. That's what it felt like to me anyway.
The Revenant - Ridiculously awesome movie. Everything I knew it would be after hearing and reading so much about it. Goes without saying that Leo deserved his Oscar as did Inarritu, but bah gawd Tom Hardy absolutely killed it in his role. Surely, he's got to be next in line for an Oscar if Oscar Isaac or Michael Fassbender don't pip him to it first. Reminded me of Daniel Day-Lewis at times, who I think could've played Fitzgerald quite well and may have gotten an Oscar nom out of it too because he's DDL of course. For me, that was the best flick of 2015.
Next up is The Big Short and Black Mass.

McLewis, I'd skip Black Mass and watch Room and Brooklyn instead.

No It doesnt.
Looks like Black Swan 2 though. But we trust in NWR. His Drive is one of the best films ever made.

Re: The Movie House - Part 7
It was previously reported that director J.A. Bayona (The Impossible) was in contention to direct the Jurassic World sequel, but due to commitments with World War Z it seemed unlikely to happen. Now, following Bayona’s departure from the film, Universal Studios has confirmed that he will be stepping behind the camera for the 2018 release.
