Who do you want as our next manager?
Re: Next Manager thread
I didn't say the new guy has to pass *below* the bar. You are right though. It would be harder for a new guy to perform lower than AW.El Gunner wrote:Sri wrote:urbaNRoots wrote:..better than another 2 years with Wenger.
That is a very low bar to surpass.
The Limbo dance is actually quite hard to succeed in.

Borussia Dortmund have deal with Lucien Favre to become head coach. This leaves Thomas Tuchel available if Arsenal make an approach. [Bild] pic.twitter.com/dSxNtsfE1R

Some recent negative stuff should not obscure the fact that Tuchel is a sensational coach.
If Arsenal could get him to succeed Wenger, fans should be very excited bordering on 'giddy'

Not if we are going to concede 50 goals per season.

Re: Next Manager thread
Just imagine your current central defense would consist of Bartra, Ginter, and Bender and then think how much you'd concede under Wenger

Re: Next Manager thread
Yeah I'm reading all those comments on /r/gunners, none of these guys have even watched Dortmund play a game in the league (let alone when he was in Mainz) but suddenly are experts on Thomas Tuchel.
It's almost as if he inherited a defence that conceded 42 goals in 34 games led by none other than Jürgen Klopp.
Despite that he led Dortmund to two DFB Pokal finals, this season where he beat Bayern in the semi final, and last season where he lost on penalties against Bayern. Just as a comparison, Arsene Wenger's Arsenal lost 5-1 home and away against the same Bayern despite having a stronger squad than Tuchel. He also helped Dortmund reach the CL quarter finals (which is more than we can do since forever) and lost probably because the whole team was nearly murdered one night before.

Re: Next Manager thread
Topped the CL group ahead of Real with a bunch of 17 and 18 year olds, too.
And BVB played simply awesome football for most of the last two years.
On second thought, I don't think Arsenal deserve Tuchel.

5th, you mean.
Also, justice for Pardieux. Can't believe you didn't put him in your pathetic list.
I don't have to re-state where I stand on Tuchel and BVB.
Hans is right. We don't deserve him.
Also, can we already vote for this as the most futile thread in GL?

Re: Next Manager thread
Arteta's first act will be to mandate perfect hair. Bellerin will be the first player he sells.

Meh. Bellerin will simply get a hair cut and will be mandated to use some hair wax.
Which IMO would improve his performances again. He's like the anti-Samson

Management team are working on an exit strategy for Wenger this summer - regardless of the outcome of this season. Joachim Löw is 1st choice and has been lined up to replace Arsène, after the World Cup. #afc #dfb #öö

Löw
Please let it be true. Because then he can't become our manager.

What a terrible option.
Don't worry.
It's never going to happen. Löq will remain NT coach as it's the best job you can possibly have.
He hasn't anything to do all year besides hanging around beautiful, small Freiburg and visiting some games there and in the neighboring Hoffenheim or Stuttgart stadiums.
He's got a pool of great players to pick from, assistants who do the training, gets shitloads of money and recognition, gets to travel a few times a year.
He'll never again take over a club, as he'd have to work hard when he can just stroke his dick and sniff his balls all day, and also of course history has shown he's inept as a club coach.

And how many world cup winning managers have done well at club level lol?
The last time Low managed a club was Austria Wien. Back in 2003.
