Demichelis will be out of contract, Navas will be on his last year and they'll probably try to move him out. That would be two open spots.
They don't really need eitherFirenze wrote:

No sense having both Barkley and De Bryune (and Silva) or Otamendi, Mangala, Kompany and Stones.
If they need a home-grown player, I could see them try to buy Kane

I don't think Pep will a CL no matter which PL club Pep chooses. He certainly won't be as successful as he was with Barca for sure. I'm calling it now.

Because he is a hipster. It's his personal preference to coach mid level teams. Are you seriously suggesting that Pep should've gone to Fiorentina instead of City?danyjr wrote:Then explain to me why Klopp decided to go to Liverpool when half of Europe were after him.

It's easier when you have in your team the best player of all time

No, he could have taken a team like United and built a team in a few years to finally challenge for title. Instead he chose the team that is consistently challenging for the league every year.

He would be getting the same criticism with United. Biggest budget, biggest name, some quality players (and besides Silva and Agüero how many world class players does City have?)

But why should he?

Why should he pick United over City?

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
People who think Pep has an easy job at hand have got to be kidding themselves.
City have an ageing squad and am sure many of them wouldn't really fit in with Pep's playing style.
This is also not La Liga or Bundesfodder where he can easily dominate the opposition using possession all the time. Sooner rather than later, the teams will figure out his weaknesses, so he has to be at the top of his game all the time.
Also, having a 200m kitty is not going to deliver instant results for him or City.. this is not FIFA.
This is obviously Pep's biggest challenge so far, and will show the world how tactically flexible or inflexible he can be.

Even Wenger got criticism when he managed to consistently get Arsenal to Champions League with a bunch of youngsters and sub £5m rejects. The media always criticise, what matters to me is building a team not getting a ready made team, spend £100 million on it and pretend to be some the best tactician of the century cause you can win loads.
Kompany, Touré and De Bruyne are also world class in my opinion. They could get in to any top team and consistently play.
Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
Kompany & Toure Yaya are certainly WC players. I think Pep might win PL if he is able to adapt to PL. The spine is there.

Well, anyone managing Man City might win the PL. The expectation will be on Pep to win it at least once in his three years.

Pep has always been a coward. He fled Barca as soon as Mourinho figured him out. Not saying Mou is the better manager, but that's what happened.

How did Mou figure him out?

In their final season Pep beat Madrid 3 times and lost once to them

The only loss he suffered is the 2-1

1-0
3-2
3-1
2-1
2-2
1-2
Dat figuring out

Tie (we outplayed them that game) -> win -> La Liga victory .. He figured him out
Pep jumped ship because he knew his grasp of La Liga was slipping.

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
Is Kompany still WC? I haven't kept up with him this season, but last season he had many brain farts. Likewise Toure is likely to leave, his manager is already testing waters in Italy.

Re: Pep Guardiola's adventures in Manchester City
City's squad is good but nothing special bar Agüero who never stays fit. Arsenal are the same level more or less. United would have been more of a challenge but City is also an okay choice to prove himself, he can't run away with the title with that squad like he does in Bundesfodder or with the 2 best players of this generation (Messi and Xavi) carrying him. So I'm fine with his choice. But he will fail anyway.

That too when we played with Cesc/Iniesta and Tello/Cuenca on the wings in some those encounters

Nobody cares about the Micky Mouse Supercopa mate. His Barca was outplayed in the last two La Liga match ups.

Head-to-head doesn't matter. We were mostly superior head-to-head because Mourinho was a coward for most of the Clasicos and my local pub team could have outplayed that Khedira-Alonso midfield, let alone the best midfielders of all time. What matters is that Mourinho gave Madrid the winning mentality back and won La Liga with 100 points. It all collapsed the very next season but it certainly looked like the first time like Mehdrid were serious opponents in 11/12 and Cowardiola immediately quit. LeSwagg Hames got a point there.
