Re: Barclay's Premier League '15-'16 discussion V8
They should do away with the League Cup or something to reduce games, this mid-week round feels stupid.
Shelvey to come straight from his medical to score the winner tonight against Man United in the 93rd minute.

They should do away with international friendlies tbh - increasing number of these games with associated flying around is the reason why there have to be mid-week games increasingly often.
And/or do away with League Cup (as you suggest). Or change the format.
Divisions 1 and 2 - FA Cup
Divisions 2 and below - League Cup

No, the FA Cup needs to be as it is, everyone taking part. But the League Cup is quite pointless. It's fun when you reach the semis, but I don't think anyone would miss it if it were gone.

Re: Barclay's Premier League '15-'16 discussion V8
I'm all for getting rid of the League Cup altogether. If that's too much then make the semi-final a one-leg game instead of two.
Also getting rid of FA Cup replays would free up the schedule a lot, though it would never happen because it's "tradition" and this country clings a lot to tradition.
Speaking of tradition, the sheer number of games played over Christmas should be reduced too. It's ridiculous that players have to play in between Boxing Day and New Year's Day. A lot of the mid-week games teams have to play during this period could actually be played earlier in the season if we didn't have the League Cup.

Sacrifice league cup and have a 2 weeks break before or after christmas. Keep the tradition and also get a break.

FA Cup shouldn't be altered, I like the replay system and I like it how small clubs can hit a financial jackpot if they earn themselves a match at one of the big clubs.

Mata (and Depay) dropped to the bench.

Man Utd 1-0 up. Rooney pen. Very, very dodgy decision too.

Newcastle now denied what looked like a penalty.
Not Mike Dean's greatest game, this.

GET IN!!
Genuinely rooting for Newcastle here even if of course it's a 3 pointer in the scoreline too.
I hope they don't go down and don't fire McClaren as I think they play genuinely well and well to watch and he should be given time.

wasn't kidding
didn't see the pen call but it's no surprise that ONCE a handball pen is given in the PL it's going to be for Utd.

It was a stonewall penalty. Look how high his arm is, he knew what he was doing.
Gif of the handball
Correct decision by Mike Dean.

Yep I saw it now. That's a pen that should be given IMO.

Behave, we would never get that in a million years.
And neither would any other club tbh. He's not even looking at the ball and he's heading from like an inch away loool.

His arm is raised in an unnatural position. He was trailing, he effed up and extended his arm hoping he can get away with it. He didn't.

Re: Barclay's Premier League '15-'16 discussion V8
Nah it shouldn't be given under any circumstance.
He's using his arms to jump and not even looking at the ball and it's headed at him from like an inch away.
If that is a penalty then we should see penalties every game.
Not to mention the rules are that it has to be intentional. ( don't make me get the rules and embarrass the entire forum again)
