I think it's more due to his attitude than his international career tbh, he's just an asshole and very rarely do people gravitate towards that type of person unless you an Ibra type asshole.

He's one of the best RBs I've ever seen and the best of this generation, far better than Lahm. In my opinion Pepcelona's third most important player.

Here's the thing, I have seen Alves have poor games far too many times to hold him in the same level as Cafu. There's a reason futbol was hating on him so much and I have seen him have shit games defensively both for Brazil and for Barca. Of course, he is an amazing player, the positives in his career far outweighs the negatives.

And I agree with Vibe, I think Maicon in his prime was better than Alves was. Alves however has been able to maintain his form for far far longer.

Holy **** I would be sooo happy. Not that I expect that much from him on the field, but surely hes still better than the likes of Roberto XD It would be amazing to see such a legend play for us again... The team needs personality n he definitely is one of the biggest ones. What he plays off the field needless to say, would be worth it.

Since hes not with another club, hope Barca agree to pay him what he deserves this time. When he left I believe that was a main reason. Fking dumb greedy Barca presidents grrrr...

One of my favourite Brazilian players, a beast on the pitch at his time. Not sure if it will bring any good now to achieve anything. At least I will not be bored by the mediocrity of Dest et al. and can enjoy the game as I do in friendly matches of past legends.
